Nintendo, now's your chance. You already have the Shin Megami Tensei, Etrian Odyssey, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, etc locked up as exclusives.
It sounds like you (like most of the Playstation fan-base) are also ignorant for counting Nintendo out.
The PS3 had around 10 at this point.
1) 3D Mario (Galaxy 1 and 2 were a couple of the best games last gen, plus they rarely come)
2) Zelda
3) Retro Studios
4) Smash Bros 4
5) Monolith Soft

Kinda reminds me of what people are currently saying about Wii U.
3DS is becoming the JRPG system of choice for me. Shin Megami Tensei IV is coming to NA this summer and Fantasy Life just got a U.S. trademark.
All we need are Dragon Quest VII and Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2. Atlus has been pumping out a lot of exclusives for 3DS so SMTDS2 is pretty much confirmed.

I think MonolithSoft is going to make the genre even better with Xeno for Wii U. Also Atlus is collaborating with Intelligent for Shin Megami X Fire Emblem.
Actually the PS3 didn't have a lot of JRPG's either. Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles, Tales of Graces F, and Ni No Kuni were the only good exclusive JRPG's while 360 had Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Infinite Un-discovery, and Last Remnant . Wii however had Xenoblade which is perhaps better than all the games I just listed, might be able to say the same for Last Story.
Banjo on Playstation, no thanks. Might as well make Nuts and Bolts 2.

So many, Don't listen to these noobs saying Rockstar, Naughty Dog, Bioware, Bethesda, etc. those are garbage.
A lot of the N4G fan-base would either say some overrated studio such as Naughty Dog or RockStar however I'm going to say Miyamoto, the guy behind Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Star Fox.
January- Present... not so well. I'm a prolific Nintendo player too, I just wish Nintendo would build more hype for the thing. Hopefully a Wii U direct comes and soon.
