Ubi owns Tetris now I think? Some games will never show up any way (in any form) due to licensing issues or now defunct publishers. Stuff from Rareware is probably a legal mess but I would love to see them someday, i.e Goldeneye N64.
You might have to break down and get one used, which I've seen locally for about $100. Haven't seen any new ones in awhile as they may have been discontinued? I really wanted to pick up one of the white superslims a while back but didn't get to and now they're a solid 30-50 bucks more than the stock ones preowned.
Picked up a xbox 360s recently for $99 with a 250gb hard drive included and I love it.
It will join the club of awesome systems that literally no-one bought or were sold at all like Dreamcast, Saturn, TG-16, Vita. I'm seriously considering picking up my own now and waiting a while for the NX which we don't know anything about anyway. The Wii U kinda reminds me of N64 in way...
1st party machine with fantastic exclusives
Has one of the best shooters (Splatoon = goldeneye)
Weird/clunky controller
Overall worse 3rd party suppo...
The only place that NX will be is behind closed doors I bet. It's obvious that Nintendo will do their own event some time in the near future (with Zelda NX). I wouldn't worry about power, its supposed to handle current gen ports with little to no problem according to one of the trusted insiders on Neogaf.
If they announce a slim XB1 at $250 or $300 with good pack-ins then that sucker is SO bought.
E3 2004, 2010, 2014 were the GOAT.
I'm still somewhat baffled as to why we even need new consoles right now, with the only exception being Nintendo for the obvious reasons. Why not just wade it out till 2018 and launch ps5 and xbtwo and just have a normal generation? Consoles are what they are and so are PCs. They will always be behind no matter what so what's the point? If it was for VR well, that could end up like the Kinect or virtual boy for all we know.
The PS3 and original Wii are still the kings of legacy platforms, both of which I still use to this day. The old vc obliterates the Wii u one I must say and the PS3 offers a huge catalogue of cheap ps1/ps2 games. Not to mention hd remasters that you can find for super cheap nowadays (each containing two games minimum) and now they re-release pc ports of ps360 games for full price lol.
SNES games on 3ds is dumb, they obviously should have done GBA. Once again there's no ...
I would hold onto it. Will definitely have a spot with many a collector in the coming years (and honestly looked back on more fondly than when it was active) like the Gamecube and Dreamcast were before it. I foresee a lot of it's library being very expensive and hard to track down in the future.
The timeframe of late 2013 to about summer 2015 were definitely its true highlight, sandwiched between a lackluster launch and a home stretch of delayed and B-games. I wish it&...
I'm ok with this. If it wasn't going to be Metroid then I wanted a new IP. Donkey Kong (both) were stellar but they had their return to form, Metroid needs love but I'm sure in the right hands they can do it proper. I'd love another 2d entry on NX, imagine what they could do on a machine that was bare minimum PS4 specs.
I would love for Retro to do another FPA with RPG mechanics and a whole new world to get lost in. I can't wait for 2017.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze was my platinum reward when club nintendo went down actually. Played through it awhile ago and yes it is sublime;)
Pikmin 3 has my interest, and I'm definitely getting all stars since I had to sell my SNES/carts and never picked it up originally.
I got over it. Still have my little PS2 and it's far outlived the 80gb bc PS3 I had, which finally succumbed to ylod a few years ago. Sold all my PS3 games. Now I have a PS4 and couldn't care less it doesn't have legacy support.
I have the red Mario anniversary Wii and don't have a single gamecube game anymore (my old cube got stolen and I have no desire to rebuild my collection looking at asking prices nowadays). I care more about the GC controller sockets mo...

Soon...
I think if they could have they would of by now. Remember those ambassadors games on 3ds? It can use the DS mode to run GBA games natively but all the OS/sleep functions are disabled. It's literally 1:1 hardware bc without the bells and whistles, i.e. save states.
From my own expertise it work the same way on the Wii u with Wii/GC games. While with the former they just dumped the disc image onto the eshop with an included icon and they still boot into wii mode. A GC game ...
I plan on getting one at tax time, got a huge backlog on Wii U/3DS I gotta go through first. I'm not really digging the drake collection as I already played them on PS3 (lack of U2 multi is a huge bummer) so I'm hoping for different bundles by then. I would like a Bloodborne bundle or one with a couple games like Infamous + First Light ect.
I'm also importing one of the Steel Black Dualshock 4s. Those things are sexy as heck.
Yakuza is a great series. I need to play the last few games...
Those are my thoughts on this matter lol.
Be different? Yes.
Although having a -much- better borometer for global market trends is a must. Start to directly compete like the old days but in the Nintendo way. Don't be behind the times and insular, but offer quality and a quantiy of content that cant be found on PS/Xbox/PC and reach a wider audience.
I think it's safe to say that we will be seeing SNES, Gameboy/Color, and potentially N64 variants at some point. I mean just having Nintendo 1st party controllers again makes me a very happy camper indeed. Especially having true N64 controllers again maybe.
