Which would be great if they were free upgrades, but this is Sony we’re talking about here.

Of course it isn’t, they believe in generations remember?

Don’t know if you’re actually trying to orchestrate a conspiracy theory or simply having a meltdown, but either way I’m here for it,

Funny that the people crying about this are the same people that would happily see Sony buy Capcom, Square Enix, Take Two and just about every other major 3rd party publisher. At least own your bitterness.

Awful take - which company has put the price of their console and games up again? And who is that better for exactly?

736d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Are Sony even bothering with a showcase this year?

Obviously some sort of licensing issue has prevented online play on Xbox… which is especially odd if rare are making it. Oh well, old school split screen it is.

Well for starters I don’t think a review of a 9 month old game was warranted at all, and sounds like it was written on emotion and impulse. You have to exercise a level of even handedness with game reviews rather than being completely one sided. As I said, the sentiments are valid but gets lost in over-subjectivity.

While it’s hard to disagree with the overall sentiments of this review, it’s done in a lousy manner. ‘This effectively closes the book on the campaign’ even though there’s likely to be more campaign content added. Also completely ignores forge which will be a huge update to the game. What could’ve been a valid opinion piece just comes across as an attack on the game.

That’s not how placeholders work. It’s standard practice for them to be the end of the year, and the spokesperson suggests it will be released on or before that date.

I could be completely wrong, but I think people are reading way too much into this. Let’s see though.

Even with their missteps this gen, the PS brand it still too strong in the UK for it to have any significant impact. Xbox set themselves back a generation with XBO and it’s going to take them another generation to come close to catching up.

Yes it is, shocking journalism lol.

I get that lots of people are angling for an overhaul to achievements, but asking for something that’s already there isn’t it.

743d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Not sure they’re suggesting that at all. The game was supposed to have released in April this year remember - they stated it’s standard practice to refund preorders for a game which has been delayed without a new release date.

There were 3 months between production halting and resuming. Obviously it will have slowed as a result of such tragic events, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see it pop up mid 2023.

Doesn’t matter how and why, their message is ‘it’s ok when we do it but not when they do’.

I’m not saying ‘don’t have exclusives’, it’s a big part of console marketing, but the fact of the matter is MS own CoD now and they can do what they want with it.

744d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

They’re lucky MS are offering 3 years - they could’ve easily pulled it from the platform as soon as the deal closes. Makes Sony look so pitiful - wasn’t a problem pulling the likes of Spider-Man and Final Fantasy from Xbox though was it.

No he said AAA developers working separately was a thing of the past. Plus I wouldn’t class all of these AAA.

I can think of several worse horror game developers than Bloober. Would you rather one of them had it?

“Energy Saver mode consumes about 20 times less power than Standby mode when the console is not being used or receiving updates.”

£59 ÷ 20 = £2.95… so XSX actually consumes less power than PS5 in its default setting.

I mean, useful to know for XSX owners but love the h...

The Quarry didn’t really do it for me. It had its moments but the campsite teen horror theme has been done to death. They nailed it with Until Dawn and have come pretty close with The Dark Pictures but The Quarry was a step back imo.

Not sure if I had anything to do with it being a Stadia game originally so maybe funding/resources were an issue. Always interested in what Supermassive put out though.

Again, terrible examples to make comparisons with - the directors cut of RE1 was released to apologise for the delay of RE2 for one.

I think the issue you’re having is that you’re viewing it as a remake, when it reality it’s a remaster. When every game under the sun was getting remastered at the start of the previous gen, there was plenty of uproar then. Most didn’t have the cheek to retail at full price though, and this is the sour taste that’s been left in the mouth of ga...
