MMOs are quickly becoming a dead genre. It's really gotten to the point where you basically play WoW or you quit playing MMOs.

Actually it's their software that has a tradition of being crap while their hardware was usually pretty good.

What this is basically coming down to is 'Oh crap the backlash is worse than we thought. We're so used to just forcing our customers to do things or throwing money at problems until they go away... But it's not working this time. I know, let's take some fake moral high ground and appeal to the humanity they have and we don't'
There's a big difference between 'difficult' and 'cheap'.
Being difficult means its a challenge, being 'cheap' means it's basically just set up to make you fail regardless of skill level.
Unless it's something besides Metal Gear, I'm really past caring at this point.
You could shut them off and take away every single one I ever earned tomorrow and I would be happier for it. If I want to take my game data to a friends house I don't want the damn system to tell me we can't use it... All because somebody might be cheating to get trophies.
I would much rather see the money go back to the game companies than places like Gamestop but I don't see a feasible way to do it.

His point was that 'Kratos fought gods', which somehow made him 'better'. My point was that Hulk has fought gods too, a whole kingdoms worth of them one right after the other and had no issue.
And no, the GoW gods are nothing special or spectacular in all of fiction. They are not even particularly powerful outside of Zeus, and even he's never demonstrated power.
And no, he hasn't even demonstrated he has anything on Thor.

If you'd like to see proof of this take a look at the things people submit to the Greenlight program on Steam. For every game that looks like it might grow in to something nice there are at least twenty that make you go 'What is this... I don't even...'
I'm starting to think WE don't need EA.
