Why do people compare sales to Gears and Halo. There are hardly any other exclusives worth playing on that console, of course majority of the 360 owners will be buying that game.
You get a PS3 and you run out of money trying to buy every great exclusive coming out.

last gen consoles were severely outdated towards the end of their lives. PS3 is still going strong and the system still feels fresh...
I'd say PS3 has at least 2 more solid years before they announce PS4 release end of 2013 to end of 2014
when you have 30,000 PS2 users playing online simultaneously yes it is a big game. And Socom isn't meant for the casuals without a mic and no skill.
Confrontation had close to 20,000 for a while, but a bad release dropped that number. Still about 3,000 play simultaneously, which is a lot even compared to other shooters.

Socom Confrontation had all the key ingredients, just technicalities kept it from being great.
At then end, Confrontation is very solid, but too many hackers who took advantage of old PS3 firmware can ruin a couple games a day. One current patch is needed to rid of the cheaters, but the game isn't supported anymore...
Zipper comes out with Socom 4 looking to make a quick buck. They took everything that worked and scraped it in favor of a dumbed down, hype...

KZ3 is better than 2, I just don't care for the limited amount of weapons you can use online.
The single player is always fun, online is fun for a while, just like any other online FPS.

real reason is that PS3 owners have too many choices of good exclusives. Any time an overhyped exclusive that appears on the 360 most of them rush out to buy it, even if it is average.
Look at Halo. Nothing about it is special. Sure the first one is fun, but the series plays like a well supported generic FPS. But it sells and keeps selling.

I can see the PS4 having slightly better graphics, but a huge increase in ram. Being able to support 60FPS 1080p standard for all games.
better textures, less jaggies, more objects on screen, locked 60fps, better draw distance, less grainy effects on some games, etc.
why is this story any bit of news? It happens all the time, idiots trade in new games, gamestop sells them for like new prices, but because it is like new and cheaper than new, although only $5, it doesn't hurt the consumer to spend less.
I would never buy a used game for $54.99 from them because after tax it's like buying it new again.

If I liked strategy games I'd be playing them on PC. You pick your system of choice based on the games you like.

It's all about exclusives.
So what if my game are 720p, instead of 1080p, I bought the ps3 for the exclusives. Multiplatform games are just a bonus.

The game comes out in 5 months, you were planning on buying it anyway. A preorder does not cost extra. I just don't understand the simple mindedness of some, in this case many, people.

I yawn at every 360 and/or pc owner simply because all the best games, IN MY OPINION, are only on the ps3.
Graphics are just a bonus, not a defining factor. I have more fun playing snes games to this day than I do pc, ds, wii, 360, or psp games.
