The article says the TRAILER was rendered in real time using the game engine.
A trailer rendered in real time is not the same thing as gameplay footage. Whenever I see the graphics look that clean when they go to the actual behind the back view with someone controlling the character like the gameplay from RE4 and RE5, then I'll believe it.
I've seen many games run cinematic scenes using the game engine where the cinematic scenes don't follow the ...
I can't imagine them showing the character on the box art either since part of the fun of Dragon Age is you get to play as your own character.
Doesn't mean you have to hate on Dragon Age.
Dragon Age was/still is a blast.
I'd argue that Dragon Age and Demon Souls aren't really even in the same category of game and shouldn't even really be compared.
I spent countless hours on that game. If you like fantasy style wRPG's you will probably love it.
I have easily logged 150+ hours into the game across the different play throughs.
Other than the graphics (which can be forgivable, given it is beta), was that I felt like I was gliding when I moved across the map. After COD4, BC, and KZ2 it felt so odd to just be gliding when those games make you feel like you are running and moving rather than being pulled around the level on ice skates.
Oh well, hopefully they take the data they get from the beta and makes some major improvements in time for the release of the game.
Droves of mindless zombies: eyephone 2.0...aaahhhhh
Ma (aka Steve Jobs): Dumb bastards
I'm not sure I agree of their very broad interpretation of "platformer."
Grimlock FTW
Or do I only count 4 decisions in this article (ps3 slim, Kevin Butler, Uncharted 2 and PSN+)?
Back when the Genesis was released there wasn't actual technology known as "High Definition", rather it was just a term to describe that the graphics were "good".
Now, all cautions since this is just a beta...
Having said that, it was bad...just very poorly executed.
I felt like I was playing a PS2 game. The graphics weren't good, the controls felt stiff and I felt like I was gliding across the level on ice instead of running. All around it was a huge disappointment, and I mean HUGE.
Can they make it better yes, but after playing this beta, I gotta say it has dropped off of the games that I'm...
Well, not really perform surgery, but I've read numerous studies that show that surgeons that used to or currently play video games have higher success rates across the board than non gamers because of hand and finger dexterity and reaction time.
At first, I was dismayed by the fact they decided to turn X-COM into a FPS, but after reading this article I'm a little comforted.
Basically I'm comforted that they are keeping strategic elements of X-COM in the game even though it's an FPS. Picking and choosing what missions to take on and collecting and researching alien tech was of paramount important in the original X-COM game. The fact that they are not ignoring this and incorporating it into this FPS game ...

I feel like making it an MMORPG is the one way they could justify the budget I am sure they are dropping on this game. 12 full time writers, voice overs for every character, big time production value, etc...
I'm sure this game cost them metric buttloads of money, and someone realized if they can tap into the WoW market by targeting the players of WoW using Star Wars, they could find their cash cow.
I myself would rather they do a proper single player exp...
But I'm skeptical because it is MMO. If this was a straight up single player like KOTOR, Mass Effect or Dragon Age I would all aboard riding the hype train.
But as an MMO where I have to pay subscription fees, schedule playing with other people if I want to complete harder missions and watch the story suffer (how can you have a good story with a beginning middle and end if the game itself never ends?).
Regardless, I'll wait and see, and pick it up if...
That and not to mention the xbox arcade 2D Castlevania: Harmony of Despair looks better than the 3D Lord of Shadows IMO.
...see Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Easily one of my top 5 games ever.
It looks like too many people are ready to just jump down Microsoft's throat without giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I SERIOUSLY doubt this new version of the xbox 360 will have the same RROD problem that the others had.
I mean, Microsoft may not be the most consumer friendly, and a lot of people here hate their guts, but they aren't stupid (there is a reason they make butt loads of money). I doubt they would release a design that hasn't go...
I'd prefer my wRPG's stay single player.
Just wish Bioware would have realized this before they decided to make Star Wars the Old Republic an MMORPG.
