Anything is possible at this point. We still have no idea what it is exactly. I am excited to learn more about the NX. Nintendo has said that it is not a continuation of the Wii brand which could mean a fresh new start for the company but who knows? I am not going to write it or Nintendo off until I have some more concrete information.
I think if the NX is close to the power and architecture of the Neo and Scorpio whether it be right out the box or with the rumored supplemental computing device they will be alright. The one advantage the NX will have over its competitors is that games can be built exclusively for the hardware unlike the Neo or Scorpio which developers with have to include the original versions of those systems meaning that those systems may not get utilized to their potential. Other factors also include pr...
I really want to play London Heist.
More power is always welcomed. My biggest fear is that the total system power won't get utilized unless they start making exclusive games leaving the old models behind.
I would like Platinum to make a Exosquad game. That cartoon was awesome.
Just played Prize Fighter the other day. It is definitely one of the best FMV games of all time. Cobra Command was awesome as well.
They said that with the DS. They referred to it as the third pillar. They claimed it wasn't a replacement for the Game Boy line and ultimately it was.
Better yet, let's see what it is before we write it off.
Your right. There has been nothing but contradictions where the rumors are concerned. I think when all is unveiled, some will be happy and some will be disappointed. I find it funny how some choose to believe the rumors. If the rumor is about the NX being more powerful than the competition immediate skepticism ensues. If the rumor is the NX is less powerful it's accepted as if it's the gospel truth straight from Nintendo.
Don't know if I can trust all these insiders but I wouldn't be surprised if the NX was close to the Xbox One in power. Actually it would make sense if it's priced accordingly. If this is true I think Nintendo is going with the low cost option. The NX may debut at $249.99 in the states. As Emily said you may not be able to compare the NX directly to its competitors because of the alleged custom processor. But I will take the wait and see approach and so far we are still waiting.
The author needs to make a correction. The Neo Geo was more like 24 bit not 16 if memory serves me correctly. Although it did come out in the 16 bit era. I just played mine on Monday. We have what we call "retro" Monday at my house. We started out with Final Fight on the Sega Cd followed by some 32x games and then finally some Neo Geo classics.
Sony would be foolish to discontinue the PS3. Especially when the PS4 has no native backwards compatibility.
As bad as I want the system there would be no purchase if the games weren't they or half assed. March 2017 seems like a long time from now but if they start trickling some official info about the system no later than September my interest is still there.
I do agree with this article now as I have more disposable income for a new Xbox and PS4 if both companies are going to release updated consoles. I had money set aside for a NX and I still will buy one but now it is easier for me to buy the newest versions of the consoles and a Playstation VR.
I am thinking that this patent has more to do with their Quality Of Life initiative than the NX.
Glad to see the good scores for the game. I was a little skeptical about it but after reading some of reviews I just put in a preorder.
@Pancit_Canton If you have truly played the beta and you think that the game looks like a 360 game, one of the following might apply to you:
A. YOU NEED A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES
B. YOU NEED A TV UPGRADE
C. YOU ARE A TYPICAL FAN BOY
D. ALL OF THE ABOVE.
I am going to go with D.
@AKR My point being the PS4 isn't the first time a more powerful system "won" a generation. I acknowledge there were more consoles available at the time, I owned and still have all of them. None of them competed with the Snes and Sega Genesis in terms of market share or mind share. Also, those two systems were the 16 bit era. The Jaguar, 3DO, etc. was more like the beginning of the 32 bit era. I love the Neo Geo but it wasn't a part of the "console war." By the way...
@AKR You do know there were consoles and so called console wars before the PS4 or Sony entered the market right? I think the Snes "won" against the Sega Genesis and Snes was the most powerful.
You do know that if you don't like VR you don't have to buy it?
