He he. Nope, I haven't seen the commercial. We don't have it in Canada. I only found pizza commercials on Youtube, not sub ones. Mmmmmm... looks yummy. I've been on high alert lately with all these doom articles:)
Did you go to school with VGchartz guys?
Last time I checked 411,523 divided by 192,934 was more like 2.
A desk and a chair.
My co-worker gets them from Pirate Bay. Some are really good quality, but you need powerful CPU or few of them. For me it's a lot of hassle, you have to find them, downloads can take a while, you have to maintain download/upload ratio, you have to store them, organize them. But, they only cost you your time if you're within internet usage cap.
This is from readme:
Requirements
============
A core 2 duo CPU (mine is a E6750, 2.66GHz) for smooth 1080p transcoding, but 720p seems to be transcodable with a good P4 :p
Didn't try anything higher than DVD quality yet, but from the above, I guess the answer is yes.
Just installed it on Ubutu. Easy installation.
DLNA media servers stream music, video, photos from your PC to DLNA client (such as PS3 and I think XBox). This one seem to have Matroska support, which is kind of big, since Matroska files are normally used for high quality video (Bluray rips etc.) and movie industry doesn't like them for that reason (ripping).
from first playing Wolfenstein 3D. That was probably my first game on PC.
Looking forward to this.
Now that you mention Incognito, I wonder what they've been doing lately. Last I heard about them was add-ons for Warhawk. In April?
In addition to quality that you mention, there is also a cost of downloading. That's on top of rental fees. DVD quality movies are 4-5 GB in size, 720p more than that. Lossless compression should help there, though. Anyone has an idea how large is an average movie in 720p?
Some internet providers are limiting downloads and charging extra for downloading over the limit. In my case, it's about 50 cents/GB.
Where did you get that Sony lost 15 billion in one quarter? I just checked Wikipedia they say Sony's profit for 2008 is 3.694 Billion.
This smells of FUD: the only named analysts talk about what Sony DID and what Sony SHOULD do:
"Koya Tabata, a Credit Suisse analyst, recently warned investors that the restructuring of Sony is perilously overdue and must be radical."
"Deutsche Bank analysts described the restructuring plans as “insufficient in scope and scale”"
Apart from that it's "Company sources" or "many analysts" that tell what Sony WILL do ("jo...
...oh, wait...
Here are some headlines for the next show:
Ken Kutaragi to design XBox 720,
PS4 to have HD-DVD,
Aaron Greenberg learns to fly...
:)
... lying down on a sofa.
"One thing is certain... that Sony will not take a many risks as they did the PS3 with the PS4... Next time they will not put all their eggs in one basket..."
If we are still talking games, Sony has 3 systems on the market, Nintendo has 2 and MS has 1. How is Sony putting all eggs in one basket?
There are few more less apparent components that are worth extra 30$ (wild guess): touch sensitive power button, slot loading disk drive, bluetooth receiver. May be minor things, but they add up to more enjoyable experience.
Great links. Bubble up!
So, they license like a light engine to game developers? Any idea why the light in GT Prologue looks different than say Folklore, even though it's on the same hardware? I played these two so I have an idea what they look like. Maybe different version of the "engine"?
Yep, you can't be a good student and a good gamer.
