Is that a fact that this deal is bad for All gamers, or are you speculating that it will be?

@eonjay that is not the CMA’s purpose. Their purpose is to “take action against business and individuals that take part in cartels or anti competitive behavior.” Corporate ambition is just that, ambition, now if it becomes anti competitive then you’re talking. The problem with the CMA is everything they are bringing to the table is a concern, but speculative, and the way the CMA likes to work is they rather be careful than to be wrong even when the evidence says other wise. In this case the ...

Right, and there were talks of Botw on the best of all times list, and to me, it fell short way short. To this day the best Zelda of all times is ocarina of time. I feel like the excitement of another Zelda is overexaggerate opinions

It lost its identity after two, and to me, two was trash! The first one with all the custom things you could do, gang recruiting and territory invading was good. I loved bounty hunting, and their missions were some fun times

@ Goosejuice and I can argue that it still wasn’t a bad game campaign wise even with the broken promises.. now I want you to also take notice how the goal post just moved. What’s the next move “ 87 metric really isn’t that good,” now? Fact remains that Xbox bad games are results of their management style as specially with newer ips. Hive busters, Pentiment, Hi Fi rush, Forza, Halo, have been good releases. Phil just gonna have to micro management a little bit.

Actually halo infinity was good, with a metic rating of 87 and got relatively positive reviews for its campaign. It fell short to deliver in multiplayer (halo bread and butter) and the expansion pack 343 totally missed on (just dealing with facts). Now to rebuttal with the problem with xbox is not that they are bad games. They are truly mismanaged by Phil’s hands off approach plus there new unproven unknown ips with million dollar budgets Phil should be involved in watching those games like...

Nope, but I know a few who brought it for game pass, and enjoy having access to its library. This be the majority of yawl problem, you swear to the lord above that red fall’s failure defines Game pass as a whole. Then got the nerve to use established games like zelda, or Gow as his talking point. But let’s talk resistance with Halo and watch that goal post conveniently move. Then it’s this fake “ oh I’ll buy my games full price to support the devs cause I’m a gamer bs” like if Zelda or Gow di...

That’s incorrect, the problem with the Xbox
gaming division is their hands off approach when it comes to the creation of games. They need to enforce some stricter management. They see plenty value in creating games. If that was the case there wouldn’t be games like grounded, Alan wake, pentiment, quantum break. All those are risks. And it’s not IP hording, I wish people would understand how this all works in order to have games as a service you need content present, old new, etc. ...

Like I said Xbox can’t win. They release two good games they are now just two ninche games that aren’t gonna sell game pass, like those two define what game pass is lol. Even if they had AAA the goal post will move or it will be down played. And that was the point of my post. Even if Xbox killed it and released five great games and this came out it would still be doom and gloom.

@solidboy86 yes, Nintendo has a sub service. It’s all for their retro games it’s doing good of price alone. 20 dollars a year and you get access to Nintendo’s back catolog and before you say but those are classic yeah back in the day. Now as a console no like I said way back in my comment. The wrong question is being asked and it’s a setup to games a service.

But yet other companies are slowly following suit. The fact that you missed ever piece of fact I listed says a lot. And the fact that you’re bring up 20 to 15 years of formulas also speaks to my point in other posts we all know consoles can’t survive without good quality games. However, thats the wrong question to ask and any person with sense know what the real question is.

Didn’t Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush come out a few months ago, and were great games? So now they release a bad game it’s now they desperately need a win? Xbox can’t win. A good game comes out it’s down played, if it’s bad it’s doom and gloom.

R2ob it sucks right now, but again you aren’t looking toward the future. Do you honestly think streaming is going to suck in the future? Like I said before people are looking at this through a narrow scope. I have tried streaming games through my iPad Pro and with a 5g connection I’ve played gears of war hive busters waiting to board a plane. It’s not unfair because it’s the same concept that video games will be moving to. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen

It’s not? I’m sorry but have you seen the movie and music industry in the last three years? Better yet go to Best Buy and take a look at their cd section. EA has gone subscription based and so has Ubi. It’s only a matter of time before the rest move with in that same realm. MS biggest issue isn’t day one games because there are multiple streams of recoupable methods. The same as what music did to recoup their sales losses. These devs wont take phone calls right now, but that will change in t...

That’s why I said what I said at the start. We all know the answer is no, but the question is really alluding to subscription service

@imagamdev it’s innovative because cloud gaming changes how games are consumed. Innovation comes by way of “ play anywhere on any device at any time” along with the networks supporting the cloud infrastructure. It’s not MS’s fault that they prepared their business to lead the pack. However that doesn’t mean they will always be the leader. AOL and AT&T says “Hi” a lot of people on here are looking at a very narrow minded scope and don’t truly understand how streaming works it needs an en...

I don’t think this article is asking the correct question. People are so stuck on the old philosophy of gaming they can’t see the future for what it is. So no, a console won’t, but a service can.

Thank you JZNRPG, Xbox has said this many times. Yet and still people are still trying to sandwich them into the old business model of gaming. Streaming is only successful through large quantities of content. It’s no different from Netflix, Disney plus, HBOmax. An abundance of content is needed to be successful. Hints why Microsoft is buying these companies to boost the streaming library. It’s no different than what Disney did by buying Lucas films, Marvel, Fox, and Pixar then offering it int...

I’d say you’re wrong about your assessment. What causes slowing of innovation is conflict of interest between consumer and company, Funding, and infrastructure. The truth is MS is not slowing down innovation. bias, lack of knowledge of the industry in question, uneducated assumptions, and old philosophies are. So, Disney was allowed to buy Hulu, ESPN, Fox, marvel, and Lucas Films and no one has anything to say about that. However for those in the know understand that in order for streaming s...
