Agreed. But to be honest, since they are switching to an intel based architecture, I would be willing to bet a fairly significant sum that it will not be backwards compatible (at the H/W level, anyway, barring some tech like streaming old games) since the PS3 will have an entirely different CPU architecture from the PS4.
It probably isn't worth the cost given the technical barrier and the value (to Sony in terms of sales) of the backwards compatibility. They traveled that...
+1. This is an obvious DAY ONE for me!! :)
+1. As an owner, I'm pretty stoked about the upcoming projects and am most interested in new console style titles utilizing either new Vita or established PS3 franchises for the big expensive games or super quick casual games as time killer/psn only type products.
I'm personally not looking for a bunch of ports of old Japanese games when the Vita can already play a ton of original JRPGs through the PSP backward compatibility. Psychonauts is probably the only title on ...
Agreed.
And, also to be even more fair, the Vita library being much smaller than the PS3's probably makes it much more difficult to add/select more AAA titles. Sony wouldn't want to give away a substantial proportion of them or some owners might just hold off on buying new software releases hoping for free versions or deep discounts which could create a bad dynamic in the already tenuous Vita software market...
Personally, I think it'd be cool if ...
@LarryL: Not sure if LBP Karting will be your cup of tea or not, but FWIW, I have had a blast playing it with my daughter. It was worth full price for us. It's a great game for $10.
I will probably pick up Psychonauts I already have a copy on another platform but at less than a cup of coffee at Starbuck's, it's awesome to add it to my Ps3 soft collection.
It's not really significantly different than the Vita. They offer a smaller instant game collection and rotate titles less frequently but it is still awesome. You will likely be getting free content for the PS4, PS3, and Vita all at the same time if you own all three. This hardly seems like a significant problem/issue, especially given the cost of the service, for someone who can afford to be an early adopter of a system like the PS4, etc.
+1. I wish it was tearing up the best seller list. But I love mine to bits and have been really happy with it, use it all the time! It's a great box and I'm thankful there are some solid games in spite of it struggling for initial sales!
The product is great so I'm hoping it'll catch on over time but if not, I still enjoy it personally.
Absolutely, I expect to focus heavily on building my Vita library next year (vs my PS3 or 360). I'm as excited for KZM and Tearaway as I am for just about any "big" PS3 or X360 games coming up, can't wait!
Man People just love to rape this game in reviews. I'm actually glad I ignored this and picked it up. I was just looking for a nice portable modern military FPS multi-player experience and it totally delivers. It's not perfect (needs more zombies, LOL) but I guess I just wasn't expecting the world from it like it seems some reviewers were... I'd probably rate it as a solid 7 as a portable game.
You can stream games from PC already. Today. Right now, With an android device, just get splashtop streamer. It came pre-installed on my TF700. It works surprisingly well.
Even on a ten inch screen it's one of those things where the first time you try it you think "This is amazing" but then after using it for a while you realize how clunky it is playing something on a device whose native control scheme is completely different and is typically displayed on a scre...
Awesome. I enjoy this game on my Android tab. It'll be a nice little casual game addition to my Vita.
Are you sure it's not your wifi?
I picked it up recently and totally agree. The press were absurdly hard on this title. If you are a CoD fan and want some FPS action on the go it is the best product out there, IMHO and does not merit all these sub-5 scores it has gotten. But that said, it is not a Vita GotY candidate either. Just a nice solid portable title for fans of the genre.
This title has generated a lot of unwarranted hate. I'm glad I ignored the reviews on it.
Yeah, Pretty much just lock it in. Does anyone ever NOT run full blast in COD. :)
They should have given the thing some built-in storage like virtually any other modern media device: ipod, iphone,Android phone, tablets, etc.
NOTHING, even cheap Chinese mp3 players, comes with ZERO internal storage these days, much less a high end consumer device.
I love the Vita but this was a huge mistake on Sony's part and really reduces the appeal of the unit. A free card might help, but I already find the Vita's storage frustratingly small with ju...
+1 They should pull a Microsoft and pay off the developer to do an exclusive version for the next go around. It would easily pay for itself from an investment standpoint. MH sold an insane number of PSPs.
Total agreement. The retail price of the Vita should include at least 16gb of storage. Compared to other media consumption devices (tablets-- anywhere from 8-16gb internal plus cheaply expandable all the way to an additional 64gb w/ microsd) the Vita's storage situation is abysmal.
I sprung for a 32gb card and it is constantly running up against memory limits. I don't even have that many games. It's ridiculous. The fact that it has NO internal storage is starting ...
Actually, Haze felt like it was trying to compete with Halo to me. It kind of collapsed under it's own hype on launch, IIRC.
The LEGO games are what they are. For the most part I expect them to be the same across boxes.
I have various LEGO games on the the 360, PS3, and PSP because my kids love them. They have always delivered what we have come to expect.
I'm not looking for some unique Vita specific snowflake of a game if I end up picking up one of these products on the Vita. Just a solid portable LEGO experience comparable to other games in the series. If that's what they...
I'll probably just keep my two PS3s and add the PS4 to the mix. All my TVs have more than 1 HDMI input. LOL.
