I have that issue of OXM.
The column from which the prankster picked that quote is a snark-fest comedy page.
You've been punk'ed kids.

Or "Bungie said its primary focus will remain developing for Microsoft's platform."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id...

This is Bungie going from First party developer (part of MS and operating by MS rules) to second-party developer (independent but captive, operating by their own rules but solely for 360).

No amount of wishing for Halo for PS3 will make it happen, kids.

For whom it happens to be the *only* show worth watching. ;-)
Also anime fans of all ages; the kind that download anime shows from the 360 Video Marketplace.
There's a reason UBIsoft licensed the western rights to the game for a 360-exclusive.

But it comes a year late. $399 in 06 woulda been good.
$399 in 07 is better than $599 but not *that* good.
Not with Wii at $250 or lower.
Not with 360 at $279.
Not without the PS3 games that just aren't there.
And there are simply no franchise games on PS3.
(God of War, MSG4, etc. How the Hell did Sony crank out God of War 2 for PS2 and not PS3?)

And it is still weird that for this "relaunch" they bundle the PS3 with...another...

Its absolutely official: Unreal Tournament for PS3 is delayed til 08.

And you're right: XBOX fans are crying a river.
Laughter-induced injuries will do that to you.

The Euro release is being delayed to 08. That's why they expect less revenue.
A minor mystery clarified, I guess.

If the 360 did not exist all the programmers in the world would be cranking out games for PS3 and every buyer in the world would be buying the $600 PS3 because there would be no choice whatsoever.
Microsoft dared stand up to the holy Playstation and because of that cats are sleeping with dogs, rivers are flowing upstream, and asteroid Apophis is going to destroy the world in 2029. (google it.)

Or, maybe Sony screwed up...?
Nah!
Its Microsoft's fault!

MS BOUGHT 100.00% of Bungie in 2000.
Ergo there is nobody left to "buy back" the name.
The only Bungie shareholders are MS shareholders.

The article says nothing about the unified shader architecture, only OpenGL ES. And the 360 has nothing to do with OpenGL.

AMD is in no position to license the XBOX GPU because the design was work-for-hire and MS owns the design.

AMD can license "elements" of the technology behind the GPU but not the GPU chip or even the design. They could license a different implemetation of unified shader tech (NVIDIA owns one too) but that's nowhere mentioned in the ...

Saying its fiscal year is even worse!
The MS fiscal year runs through June and I think Nintendo's too.
Sony's runs to March.
Way way outta line.

Edit:
Wrong again: The federal government runs sept to october.
(although congressional inaction on the budget means the spending year is really march to sept.)

that's a hell of a Christmas.
...360 to sell 5 million?
And nintendo only 4 million?
Don't think so.

Little Big Planet?

This is really old news, children.
No conspiracy or anything; just that the component cable dongle is too thick. Other cables? Not as much.

Pretty poor excuse of a gaming executive that doesn't even know what the competition fields.
For those out there with short attention spans:
- Crackdown is a sandbox token collection game overlaid on a 3rd person shooter. It has a limited multiplayer co-op mode.
- Bioshock is an FPS with no online component.
-Neither game has much if anything in common with Halo.

Considering Bioshock has been all over the news for the last month and even the Washingt...

THe older boxes do not universally fail.
It is only a minority of them.
Most recent boxes are safe because of the reengineered cooling system, regarles of the chips in them.
Mine dates back to early 06 and I beat the crap out of it with 12-20 hour sessions (music/video/and gameplay) and it's never even blinked.
And its pretty quiet, too.
If yours is working fine now, you should be fine.

This is, in effect, a Microsoft Cable channel (except it runs on the internet instead of a cable system) that streams news, sports, and entertainment on-demand to Media Center PCs and thrugh Media Center PCs, to XBOX and Media Center Extenders in the *living room*. Not on PCs, not on laptops. Not on cellphones; on HDTVS!!!
Nobody else anywhere does this.
Nobody is even close to doing this.

Remember, MS has a one year lead in sales.
That's not just a year extra installed base and a year extra game production but also a an extra year to amortize the up-front investment and get economies of scale going. The cost of building a box is a function of the sales volume, not just the design. And Sony is on the wrong side of the curve on both ends; that's why the talk of a $399 PS3 includes the warning that features will be reduced, not just the HDD size.
Sony is limited in...
