It's sadly something all companies are doing. Digital sales are eventually going to surpass physical sales. I would always like the option to buy the physical copy. wish the Pixeljunk games would be put on one disc, I'd buy it.
Don't get too excited they might screw up the execution.
This is actually pretty cool. I thought it would be another way to milk money but it doesn't look like it. If players have the option to rent a game for a small period for free or pay a small amount for an extended period it could increase sales for games. If you decide to buy it after renting it for the extended time Sony should deduct the rental cost from the cost of the game at least for PS Plus members. God I need a PS4.
What backlash? I'm sure tons of people will still buy the game, it looks pretty good. I've never not bought a game because the visuals were not amazing. Plus this game is coming out on every major system except PS2 and PSV so that's some great commitment on Ubisoft's part.
Exactly they are waiting too long. PS4 already has a very strong presence in Europe. They should of released their Xbox in Japan at the same time if not earlier than the PS4. They don't even have a release date yet. They are not in a good position. Sony has so many financial and restructuring problems and yet they are on top of things yet a profitable strong Microsoft can't get their shit together for the one good product they have.
You are correct. They will most likely beat Sony in the US but Europe will most likely fall towards Sony and there are now developing markets that Sony is probably investing in like Brazil,Russia and India. Japan they have in the bag.It seems like Asians really like Sony products as well as the Europeans.
I just made a post talking about the same thing. I think they need to bring the price point above all else and focus on the Japanese market and not simply abandon it.
I dona't own a PS4 controller but looking at pictures the rubber looks cheap. Doesn't looks good as the thumbsticks for the PS2 and PS3. Has anyone compared them.
Why is everyone freaking out about a game that hasn't been released yet, not too much is known about it and when there a 1000 games with 16-32 player multiplayer. I'm glad they are going in a new direction. 4 player splitscreen is still the best for any multiplayer 4 on 4 is great too.
It seems Microsoft is going more mainstream if that makes sense. They don't want just gamers, it seems like they want people to see the Xbox One as a multimedia device. Maybe they believe gaming has a bad connotation for the mainstream.
Nice set o links.
If you listen to the podcast he comes off as a genuinely nice guy and a gamer. He cares a lot about the Playstation fans. He probably just plays PS4 games at the office with the company dev units but until there is surplus of PS4s for customers he won't buy one.
I feel the same way.
The French really know how to kick off a Sony event, it look awesome. We need video. I sadly cannot buy a PS4 so I will celebrate by making NFS High Stakes videos on the old school PS1.
I love that game. It was confusing a times but still awesome.
I'm a patient person so I never minded dealing with installs on the PS3. I am surprised that the PS4 is faster for installs on the Xbox One. Everyone used to gloat about how Xbox doesn't need installs now it does AND it's slower than the Playstation.
I submitted an article way more interesting than this and it didn't even reach 250. This dumb article...front page. Impossible to get good content noticed.
Makes me want to get a Xbox just to Play Dead Rising 3 but I want a PS4. Deadrising is the only franchise for Xbox that I really wish was on Playstation.
Did you really have to post each game on a single page, do you need page views that badly.
While you did bring up some good points you have to remember HD remastered PS2 games are games that have just been improved visually with a few other small improvements and changes. Developers are not remaking the game. The HD remasters are so people can re-play it on current systems with better visuals instead of playing it on a PS2 with old blurry visuals. For the time FFX was an exceptional RPG and still is today, the remastered version just has improved visuals and remastered audio.
