The "emptiness" and the game time of 30-40 hours is something I consider a big plus. I'm sick of 100+ hours OW games where you run around the city to talk to 50 NPCs. Worlds unnecessarily big with a hundred annoying tasks like follow the tracks, bring this, bring that, and pick up a pile of loot you don't need.
People are anxious about the price tag of games, but they don't know the value of their own time spent in the question mark generators.
The last Ubisoft game I bought was I think Rayman or Child of Light. 8 years have passed since then? A completely dead company to me, I no longer hope that they are capable of something fun and original.
It's a bit of a cocky statement, but the fact is that we don't know what new IP is being prepared in ND, Santa Monica, Guerilla etc. Big "blow-mind" potential will definitely be there.
We also don't know what success the new VR will be, if there is a cheaper slim model in development, impact of new PS plus subscription, and what studios Sony plans to buy.
I also hope Sony never does this. A game that costs $60-$70 has to be great to sell. The average game doesn't stand a chance and ends. That's the market's main filter.
Microsoft, with its base of players already unable to normally buy a game, is nothing to be envied, and nothing to be inspired by.
The first game took me 180 hours (I've explored everything). Now I'm in NG+, and after 5 hours I'm standing in front of the final boss :D At least 80% of the game is optional, purely for the love of exploration.
(all underground locations, Caelid, the whole south, half the mountains, Halligtree, Volcano, Upper Lunaria. You can skip all that if you rush to the end)
That's what I love most about the game, that you just want to, not that you have to. No stupid q...
The design complements both the console and the headset beautifully. Now just open the pre-orders, and I'll take this Stargate immediately
If Sony buys a studio they already know about working together, it could be Quantic Dream, Fromsoftware, genDESING, Kojima Productions, or BOKEH (New studio from Sillent Hill, Gravity Rush 1/2 creator)
I'd say it's insurance. You give us COD on Playstation, we'll give you Destiny (or new IP) on xbox.
The timing for the day they show the Halo trailer probably isn't a coincidence. Such a kick in the balls
a virtual item that only exists in one copy (just another number on the helmet, different appearance, picture, furniture, etc.) and goes on to be sold out of the game. But there is also a commission from each transaction to the manufacturer (in this case, ubisoft). The payment is made for cryptocurrency, at special NFT markets.
Easily earned money for the manufacturer, very doubtful and uncertain investment for the buyer (unless there is an even bigger fool who will buy your $500 vir...
It looks like some people are going to live in an empty room in the real world, and sleep on the bare ground, because they're willing to spend it all on their virtual world presentation. Thanks, but without me.
I'm going to boycott this as well as the gaming outfits and the gaming currency. I wish hackers a successful hunt
Beautiful looking numbers, but profitability probably not so great when every user (I'm not purposely writing a buyer) gave an average of one dollar for their attempt. I guess games from the x360 era generated them a lot more
Playstation studios have expanded considerably this year (Bluepoint, Firesprite, Housemarque, Nixxes. Last year, Insomniac) and their big studios like ND or Guerrilla have doubled the number of employees over the past generation.
Of course, the purchase of Microsoft is massive, but even Sony is stronger than ever (there is also the likelihood that it will consolidate its position as a leader in the VR market)
But there will probably be psychological pressure, so there will ...
Wii was popular too, and six years later the wiiU came. Next Switch may not be here until 2024 due to a lack of chips, but not later. All N consoles are 5-7 years apart, and Switch came out 2017.
Now just hope that your best gameplay ever made doesn't mean 15-30 fps
I like the character of a Bayonetta, but man, it looks like a 15-year old game. Metriod the same
I don't like FPS games either. Because I like to look at the character and her interaction in the world. You see the new armor, the new belt case, etc.
The fact that there are a lot of FPS games is, I think, because it requires less work (motion capture) and it's cheaper.
Phil did it! He killed the healthy power of the market, which by having to earn its keep filters out the quality of the games , and turned its own paying community of players into a community of beggars
PlayStation and Nintendo have to make their own 10/10 games to sell it, whereas at Microsoft this effort can't be made anymore if it doesn't earn them anything extra
I won't forget the first time I visited Home on PS3 as a kid. A trio of people started chasing me in the square, and they wrote me messages like "die you bastard!" Very pleasant visit :D
As if games couldn't be incredible but look and run better. These hipster views are laughable, especially when it's ultra N fans who buy Wii ports of games again on the Switch because they run better there, and someday they'll be excited about the Zelda 2 collection in 4k (in 2028)
The main motive of the first episode was LOVE, the second episode was HATE, so the third (and final) episode should be about REDEMPTION.
Ellie and Abby meet again at the age of 40, but this time Ellie sacrifices herself for the cure, and Abby (or " little potato" baby) becomes the leader of humanity's new rise. Or something like that, I guess.
