Exactly, it doesn't take anything away from the game. It doesn't limit you in anyway. It is purely a cosmetic option that if someone wants to spend money on then so be it. They word it like you can't already check your deaths mid match.
It's a non essential feature that you can already do by bringing up the scoreboard. It changes literally nothing. You are bitching about......nothing.

The game is very interesting and requires a certain amount of leg work that I don't doubt most reviewers wanted to avoid doing.

Saints Row 4 and Gat out of Hell were definite missteps but 1 through 3 were definitely awesome.
