If it was not made.
We've kind of outgrown the mascot thing. I think it's better to make a good game without having to waste time making a "cool character." Mascot characters are part of the reason the industry got obsessed with marketing. Better to not stir up that beehive more.
I disagree, but it's the author's opinion. It's pretty subjective anyway, because the single digit games were all pretty quality in their own way. It was kind of in a identity crisis where it annoyed older fans post double digits, but I think besides the 13 games and vanilla 14 I can say they were good in their own ways.
everything xHeavYx said. I mean seriously. The system was 6 years old in 2012. Please remember that! At that point there were so many throwaway titles, poor sellers, and games well past their prime that could easily be given for free. We're half that into PS4, and it's a generation that started off pretty rough due to AAA publishers thinking console gaming was going to die off.
It wasn't great. Though you can easily play it for free on a PSP emulator. I wasn't so lucky.
As long as it's better than 3rd Birthday I agree.
What are you even talking about dude? I don't push for censorship. I think you can do or say whatever you want in this world as long as you're not trying to seriously hurt someone. The only caveat is that anyone can be judged, protested, or not liked for doing such. Everything has consequences, and people need to understand that. I have no agenda or real dog in this fight, besides not wanting people to act like assholes to each other. I vote with my money, and that's the most I do...
I guess if it's not for no reason besides to sell the game I wouldn't have an issue. Like I have no problem if it's a porn game, or a game that wants to have female characters that are three dimensional AND being sexy is part of their character. If a horror game that tries to be scary throws bikinis on the female characters I would find it silly.
Oh man, I'm super stoked to be going this year now.
I don't go out of my way to fight for women's rights, which is why I don't consider myself a feminist, but as a minority I can understand what it's like for something to make you feel bad based on a portrayal for your group. I'm kind of on the let's not be dicks train, where we hear people out, and at least understand why they're upset. Not saying we need to change things for every voice, because that would be silly. However ignoring a large minority of people is n...
Kalebninja is right. We don't really get anywhere labeling people like that. I could easily say you're one of the butt hurt conservatives, but that doesn't really get us anywhere. He's just making a point, not pushing an agenda on guns. How about we leave political ideologies to the side, and keep it to what's happening with video games.
That being said I don't think it will change the minds of people who are upset with the way women are portrayed. I t...
The One.5 is probably their best shot at reversing things.Though honestly, seeing how low the price is I don't know what's happening. Considering I've seen some packages under $250 new I don't know what the future holds for the system.
I think the whole idea of oversensitivity is a bit exaggerated. It's a similar phenomenon to something like the diagnosis of ADHD. Its existed all this time, but we were unaware it was a thing. I think people are starting to be more open, and we're a little more aware of the subtle things that have existed in our culture. We're also trying to empower minorities and members of the LGBT community a bit, and we're getting their feedback on things now. However we're early in...
Honestly I'm sure it would work the same as Mass Effect. Not a lot of difference in the story no matter your gender, and at most you'd have slightly different reactions to the different links in certain circumstances. Maybe some characters will be more flirty to one Link if you're male or female. At the least there'd be some minor dialog difference (ex. "pretty good for a girl") Though either way, Link would just be friends with the princess. I mean it's not like...
Ok so I think you're reading into this too heavily.
First off it's the "spirit of the hero." If you look at something like Avatar, where the base spirit is male, the reincarnations that share this spirit have varied in genders. It's likely they'd take this path. Also, hero can be used as a gender neutral description when being vague. Which most mystisistic storylines and curses like this tend to be.
Second "blood of the goddess...
I guess because we already had an animal Link, so that feeds into the whole "gay marriage will lead to people marrying animals" logic.
Also there's currently two trans characters I'mm aware of in all of video games. I'd be ok with more as well. Also fun fact, the person who did a bunch of the death cries for Red Dead Redemption is trans. I've met her a few times, and she's pretty cool.
I mean why not?
I look at it the same way as Avatar does. Hero itself can be gender neutral. It's only when you're being specific that a hero is female that you say heroine. Considering it's all supposed to be some old legend/prophecy I assume it's just as vague as every other story uses that trope. So if that's the case I think it doesn't matter. Link is a pretty blank slate anyway. Even in the new games he has very little character to him, and I'm sure that would continue even i...
You understand the concept of reincarnation doesn't lock you to a gender. Nor does it lock you to a species. Something that the timeline does due, as Demise's demon ass is reincarnated as a garudo.
I really hope this game is good. I'm happy it'll be at PAX East so I can try it soon too.
