I'm sure there aren't "re-buys", let's not be silly. HDMI and component aren't too different (1080i and 1080p for example). Plus many games run at lower resolutions (max). Xbox 360 will outsell PS3 in NA for now, because NA consumers don't know quality from quantity, and price has much more influence than consumer preferences. I've been to Europe, items there are expensive, but man are they built to last, and the population has generally become aware that buying quality is better th...

Ah no worries. It didn't have that much advertisement at the time, now there's many commercials and it's on many people's "to buy" list. Only a matter of time before sales pick up :)

Why isn't burnout a system seller? I think it might be. It has hours and hours of replay value, and that's what people look in a game. I think the main problem with why games don't sell is their replay/multiplayer. For example, Heavenly Sword is a fantastic game (I haven't played, but I've seen all the "making of" clips and lots and lots of videos, but once again I don't want to say too much), but it's only about 6 hours long and there's not much incentive to replay. With a price ta...

What use is there stating the obvious?
FULL DivX compatibility is certainly a nice addition.

Xbox 360 - all major titles expected already out
- had a launch that was just as crummy as PS3s, sales figures are about the same for the same time frame, WITHOUT next gen competition at the time
- people would buy less xbox360 if they knew about the 33% failure rate, MS didn't exactly print "caution this console has a 33% failure rate" label on it. If people knew they wouldn't buy it, as much.
- 3 year warranty to compensate is very n...

Better than COD4? wow, I've just bought a PS3, I'm very reluctant to try an FPS on a console (the only one I Played was the original halo). Anyone want to elaborate?

It means that people are sick of shooters, because they are a dime a dozen, and want a game that ties in with reality in some religious, historical or ancient myth connotation. People look at a game like this and think, wow, it's a chance to experience ancient Jerusalem and carry out meticulous assassinations. I'm surprised Heavenly Sword and Uncharted haven't done as well, technically they have higher production values. Ubisoft used to be a good company when it started releasing Prince of Pe...

I wonder if after it gets patched they'll actually incorporate the changes into the new discs.

So will this be bundled with the console or sold separately for the first little while. I was planning on going out and purchasing the 40 gig PS3 this Wednesday, but I can wait till January (assuming the same deals will include the rumble controller). Decisions decisions...sigh

K lol running out of bubbles here. Just like everyone else I'm trying not to waste my money and buy a console that's going to last me. I'm merely stating facts, not looking for criticism of my opinion. If you have a good explanation of why I should by an xbox 360 and some counter arguments to the failure rate problem and online, then please tell me, maybe you'll change my mind after all. Also, yes, you need online for ps3 to get firmware updates. But the online itself is free, that's what I w...

First off, put yourself in the shoes of a person who knew about the xbox 360 failure rates and bought an xbox, and had it break on them in the first month or so. Then they'd go saying "damn, why didn't I listen". I was planning on purchasing an xbox this christmas, considering how many exclusives Sony lost, and the cheaper price point. But the failure rate, coupled with the lack of free online is what frustrates.

Yeah, no amount of Xbox 360 advertisement is really going to sway the average rational person, but then again maybe average people are not rational. Considering the immense failure rate (for example, my friend had his bricked twice), and the lack of good upcoming exclusives, I think PS3 is a better choice.

I'm making my decision right now about which to purchase. Realistically, most notable Xbox games are shooters, like Halo 3 which is their flagship title. As well, Gears of W...

Devil May Cry has always been about enemies that are punching bags. The difficulty comes from their number and the damage they do. In Ninja Gaiden you find 2-3 enemies at a time, and yeah they are smart, but you don't get that feeling that you can really lay waste to everything. The boss fights are pretty well the same in both games.

Quick question for all you gaming enthusiasts. How is the lack of rumble in the six-axis? Does it really take away from gaming? This is the only factor that's standing between my acquisition of a PS3. I'm an avid PC gamer, and was considering xbox 360 to play other games like ninja gaiden 2 (halo 3 doesn't appeal to me, with all the FPSs on PC, it becomes just another FPS). Especially since PS3 lost exclusivity to DMC 4, I figured I'd just buy the cheaper console. But now they started doing s...

Dropping the Ps2 price is silly. It's already dirt cheap, as are the games for it. It's selling relatively well, if anything Sony should concentrate on encouraging devs to release more games for it. Last time I checked GoW 2 was the most recent decent game released, and that was back in March. Also, some people are under the illusion that Sony makes money off the actual PS2s...uh..yes, but very little. The big bucks are in the games, so I guess by cutting price they'll make the system more at...

I don't understand why there aren't any more AAA games coming to PS2, as far as I can tell GoW 2 was the last one. If it has such a huge user base, why aren't developers and publishers pushing for more games on ps2? Can't they juxtapose the propagation of the PS3 console via new games alongside AAA support for PS2, because right now it seems there's alot of pressure for the PS2 to be on its way out.

Also if you think about, light is an EM wave (breaks up into frequencies and hence different colours), and light waves (let's ignore all this photon/energy stuff to make things simple) behave much in the same way as radio/microwaves, while they have a shorter wavelength...shorter wavelength equals higher frequnecy waves, so realistically, if wi-fi networks, which run in the lower end of the EM spectrum can be damaging, then so can light waves, but we know that's not really true (only UV radia...

Actually, I was reading a scholarly article the other day, that GSM networks emit fields that can disrupt the blood brain barrier and cause nuerological problems such as destruction of nuerons and adhesion of various plasma proteins to the brain (which is bad). This was carried out on rats, and there was siginificant evidence that these signals could impact humans as well, although not as significantly. Wi-fi networks indeed could have a similar effect, just because we haven't heard anything ...
