How come you read this news item if KZ2 isn't of interest to you, then?
Sony will have known how this title has been progressing in its development. Maybe they think it'll cause a Wii effect too, and that's why they've held back on a console price drop.
I agree that using the Cell B.E in the next machine makes big sense. Keeping the architecture similar to the PS3 will mean they can instantly leverage the skills that the games developers have learned from the PS3. They will start off on a MUCH stronger footing.
I can see another vast chunk of my life being swallowed up by this game when it finally lands. It looks damn hot.
LOL. Damn me and my unbiased opinions. Sitting on the fence is indeed a dangerous course.
We are lucky gamers. They both look good.
There's a Monty Python sketch with two chaps taking it in turns to hit each other with a cricket bat. It's funny and silly all at the same time ... rather like these 'debates'.
I wonder if anyone engages their brain before posting :)
The 'postman' is going to be busy when this one drops at the end of February. Hope he doesn't lose my copy.
Agreed with your second point ;)
"You add that to the fact that PS3 isn't selling much software".
I'm sure it's selling software to the console owners. We bought it to run software, after all.
Some people are hard to impress, apparently. Maybe they keep their expectations permanently one step ahead of reality.
Yeah, I agree it most likely takes next to no time at all to 'build' new passive objects to 'sell' within Home. And once made, each item can be sold over and over again with zero overhead.
However, the OP seemed to be referring to the development of Home itself, which will have taken a large amount of development time. Developing Home and the tools used to populate it is a very costly undertaking, whereas using these tools to make the things in it is probably much less so.
..."its all software based so it probably cost next to nothing to make."
Software development is far from cheap. Ask the NHS in Britain.
Agreed. Lots of M$ adverts in UK (... and no, I am NOT a PC, my car is not a PC, my friends are not PC's and neither is my pet Llama). The only exposure I've seen for LBP was on 'Something For The Weekend' many weekends ago.
At least it's a result. Hopefully they will check their facts and figures better in future. (And maybe they won't - I'm a hopeless cynic at heart).
... and you are welcome to your opinion. (Although that opinion is most likely more accurate than mine would be since your profile shows you as owning both systems, whereas I don't). I'm not sure what the relative quality of the games between the systems has to do with whether there are any decent games to play on the PS3, though.
Yeah, Jdoki. I did wonder if that was the case and it sounds logical. If some company is gonna pay you to stick up posters for games on their console, you'd be daft not to.
Who cares what others say as long as you personally enjoy the choice of games available for your system(s).
What is annoying is the apparent bias in certain computer shops. I regularly see posters on the window of my local GAME for the latest XBox360 releases. I never see any for PS3 ones. This kind of thing has got to influence the perceptions of less-informed shoppers.
For myself, the choice available on the PS3 and the games I own far outweigh the number of hours ...
I'll wait to make judgements like that until I've finished KZ2. Or even started it .. come on Feb 27th !!!!
