It's a not so good engine. Even the previous engine had better destruction and collision. The only thing it really seems to be strictly better at is graphics.
It could run Cryengine 3 almost flawlessly and the Crysis 3 port was near completion but got cancelled by EA. I'll assume he meant design, as that is what the person he is replying to seems to be talking about. I love Gen 1 Pokemon, but his statement that all of the original Pokemon are better designed than the majority of the new ones is pretty silly considering Grimer, Voltorb, Magnemite, etc. Nothing wrong with favoring the older gens, but him saying every one of them is better than almost any new one is silly.

Considering how I don't know if all my games will be available on Gaikai(?) or whatever they are using to allow BC, not to mention wether I'll need to buy the games again, I'll keep my PS3 for now and simply save up some money for a PS4.

That makes sense, but it also doesn't make sense to cancel an almost finished port after all that work and money was put into it and then don't even try to make anything but the bare basics for a system while claiming support. There's clearly something between Nintendo and EA, and considering that Acitvision seems to have no problem with them and EA's behavior general behavior, I have little doubt who started this.
