just to clarify:
since the PS4 works offline then DRM is only possible to the online component when publishers want it
in other words: SAME AS PS3
so:
online: similar functions, PS3 free, so PS3 wins
features: blu ray player, HDD and wi-fi on all consoles, PS3 wins
exclusive games: no comment, Ps3 wins
sales: PS3 wins
let's see, what else?
HI EVERYONE, I DON'T USE TWITTER, can someone post a quick step by step on how to get that campaign?
PROBABLY A LOT MORE PEOPLE HERE WIL FIND IT USEFUL
@MariaHelFutura
are you really a girl?
THIS IS THE ARTICLE EVERYONE SHOULD READ
it says what I've been saying all along, the online checks are for MS to see if any of the games on your HDD were sold as second hand and to delete them if that's case
but until you go online to let your console phone home and they confirm which ones you still own MS will hold ALL your games hostage not letting you play anything because they will assume you're trying to screw them by playing games from ...
yeah, "all in one", except for the cable box for TV, and a 360 to play 360 games.
ohh, and a PS4 to play next gen games.
"wait for E3"?? OMG why is this so hard?
haven't you been around gaming for the last four E3s when all MS apoligists could say was "wait forE3" when there were no games in sight? and MS disappointed EVERY SINGLE TIME?
is that news to you? what make you think it will be different this time?
and those 15 exclusives that include 8 new IPs? well, Forza and Halo and Quatum Break makes that 12 left with 7 new IPs
ho...
they had their chance
what are the online checks for then? this is false:
the checks are for MS to know if you're playing games from your HDD that you still own, by checking if you sold the disc on one of their authorized shops (which will ask for your account info)
that's why the OS won't let you play anything if you don't let your console call home to check which ones of the games you have installed were registered as sold before they let you play the ones of...
THE FACTS ARE:
-for the next xbox MS will consider the license separate from the disc (they said outloud the word permission)
-games can be played from the HDD without the discs
FROM THAT WE CAN UNDERSTAND:
-if a game can be played without the disc then it stands to reason that MS will somehow prevent that disc to be passed around and installed on hundreds of consoles, which is understandable and fair BUT...
look, I respect the loyalty that you're showing to MS but let me copy a post that I made on an article so you can tell me if there's anything wrong with my conclusions about the used games policy:
the reports are inaccurate and incomplete because the info coming from MS is inaccurate and incomplete

X1 used games system requires them to know when you sold a game so they can remove it from your HDD remotely
the only way to do that is to force online on you so they can check your HDD
otherwise I could fill the HDD with games and then sell the discs and keep playing them directly from the HDD

fact
I really don't have any bias, but if it were posible I would love to have a single console that would cover most of my gaming needs
this gen Ps3 came close but games like Witcher 2, Alan Wake, Gears trilogy, Halo 4 and Left 4 Dead made getting a second console necessary, and I though that that will be the case next gen so I already had a 1000 bucks put aside to buy both new consoles this holiday
but now it really seems that the PS4 is all I'll nee...
that's wrong, in particular the part when it says that the game is removed from the first account when oit's installed on a second
THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS
the games will be installed on both consoles but only playable from one profile, when the games returns to the original owner it will still be installed, and the friend won't be able to play it unless he buys it from the online store
you're saying that the article is not sarcastic?
people can be that stupid?
@HenryFord
actually it was called PSX
the only thing that makes me think that might be fake is the WI-FI icon, it looks way to big for a next gen console
and I mean that in the sense that showing the player that the console is connected to the wi-fi is not necessary, it's like it's something that should be taken for granted
if you like to collect games this is the end for the xbox brand
