I don't believe that this will have any long term effects either. Everyone is just blowing hot air right now. If selling a virtually broken console and hiding that fact didn't destroy that other company I doubt this will destroy Sony. In a crisis, no matter what you do, everyone and their grandma always could have 'handled it' better.

Beside everyone seems to think that this event will be the end for Sony have forgetten it is not their other divisions that this happened too. Sony makes other electronics too you know. If people would stop harping on about the original Lair, which was no where are bad as people went on about, Lair 2 could be be better now that technology has advanced and many things could be done to fix it's problems.
