FBC, if I recall correctly, Sony is going to be advertising the pants off of this game. Also, a lot of new PS4 owners, are also new to the PS family. There was a statistic about that recently. So for a lot of folk, this is a new game, for all intents and purposes. I think we'll see a substantial hardware spike this next month. (I don't watch TV, so I have no idea what ads have hit NA already, which is why I think there might be a bigger boost in August than July--end of the month.)
They also trumped MS in engineering this round, not only with more powerful hardware, but also better development tools. Particularly compared to the nightmare the PS3 was to code for, last gen. And their message has been consistent, even if it is somewhat fabricated. MS have waffled from every position imaginable since the initial unveiling, and their product is still struggling for an identity.
"This is to help promote Stockholm Gay Pride which runs from 28th July till 2nd August. "
Right there in the article. Its campy and colorful on purpose, to represent Pride.
Chalkboard is pretty much full at this point. Start a new one. Neither of the new-gen consoles have a prayer of making it in China against the power of F2P and mobile games. Sony might do better, but neither side will really see much of a victory here. Culturally, China is a society of die-hard PC and mobile gamers, with a tremendous selection of quality games to play from on those platforms. Consoles offer little that is compelling and the cost of entry, or subsidized hardware, or subscripti...
That's way too little content for anything that wants to hang with the MMORPG crowd.
What else would he say: "it looks terrible"?
And lol at this being big. I think the console warriors want it to be big, that doesn't meant that it will be. Nothing from Platinum has ever been big, except for MGSR, and that's because it had the Metal Gear IP associated with it.
How can something be sh*tty when there is literally no footage by which to judge it?
And Sony's real big hitters, UC, Bloodborne, the Order, are actually coming next year. So how will the gap close? Sony are already pretty much at 2:1 world-wide, whereas MS have stuffed the channels so much that they they're bundling 360 and X1 numbers now. Last update we had from them was 5 million SHIPPED. And in the latest memo, they directly referenced a "moving through inventory", aka, massive channel stuffing constipation going on in the market. Japan and other T2 coun...
MS had a lot of features to simply play catch up on, or stuff that wasn't working like snap, game-streaming, etc.. They don't get credit for simply making their UI better. Its quite funny that system software updates have become the new goal-post for die hard MS fans (not you, necessarily).
More to the point of the article, the X1 won't outsell the PS4 this holiday. Not a chance. Mind-share has already been won, and the X1 is simply seen as an inferior, or second-...
That was a typo. Should have been TPSMMORPG. (Even though with scopes in TPS games, they always swap to first-person perspective.)
Mix, Uncharted 4 was running in real-time on a PS4, they confirmed that after the show, and I think even had a caption to that effect while the footage was rolling.
The Order has been demoed several times using in-game footage. Most recently was at E3 with the werewolf segment. Someone was playing that, even though the whole thing looked like an actual movie.
Action 3rd person FPSMMORPG. Guaranteed. Developers and publishers are so risk averse that an FPS studio doing high fantasy--or anything without shooty-bang-bang-- would have them all in fits.
Edit: And the online component, while not specifically mentioned, is a given these days.
SHOCKING NEWS!!! Console that sells twice as much and has the highest multiplat software sales will be getting a game from EA!
UNPRECEDENTED PARTNERSHIP! (Number 3, or 4? Which one are we on now?)
"Don't you have to have a 3D TV to use that?"
LOL at the internet. I'm sure that guy will be complaining next week when his Blu-rays aren't 4K and 3D on his CRT TV.
I honestly thought the PS4 had this feature already. Kind of a silly bullet point anyhow, as most TVs made in 2012 and later offer a relatively decent "3D Mode". I just watched Avengers a few weeks ago and it never occurred to me that 3D wasn't supported as I just pushed a button lol (Bravia X850B).
You're going to be out of goalposts to move, real soon. Japan and those other countries won't do squat.
"Xbox Platform revenue increased $104 million or 14%, driven primarily by increased console revenue. We sold in 1.1 million consoles in the fourth quarter, as we drew down channel inventory, compared to 1.0 million consoles during the prior year."
Drew in channel inventory...Channel stuffing confirmed, and still stuffed from the sounds of it. This is going to be a grim year for the unit. Maybe 2015 will be better.
8 months. And yes, its selling terribly everywhere outside of the USA, which was the same market its predecessor dominated. The "price cut" and new model, barely boosted its sales above April's level. 30K/ week (120k/ 4 weeks) > 40K/ week (197K/ 5 weeks). An 10K/ week bump after a new revision and price-cut IS bad. They sold 40 thousand more X1s in MS's BEST territory, than they would have previously, and looking at May's dismal numbers, a lot of those customers were ...
Past-tense, I'd say. The becoming is complete. Its embarrassing when people lose the ability to think outside of what PR force-feeds into our mental diet. Spending hours a day on this nonsense, no less. What's frightening is that these people aren't even plants, or faking it for lols. They are actually that devoted to brands. False idolatry at the altar of Commerce. What a mess.
My favorite part of N4G is how you have more 'disagrees' than 'agrees' just for posting a factual link.
