actually in this game now....I mean, 2.5! That's just trash! I kind of want to play it now just to see how god awful it truly is. I had no interest in the game until this 2.5.
47 - Wake gets a bad wrap just b/c of sales. AAA...? I don't know but it is a DAMN good game, damn good. Amongst the best I've played all year (others would include GOW3, ME2, Heavy Rain to name a few - so yes, not a fanboy, have all consoles).
Homicide - Lair too I believe gets a bad wrap. I personally find it to be amongst my favorite PS3-only games...maybe top tenish or so (edit: no, not ten but perhaps 15 - just looked over my games)? Not sure exactly where it fit...
I'm a born and raised Chicagoan and remember these Finals, despite being 6 at the time.
I thinks its pretty sweet how you're just thrown in. Its been years now since I picked up a basketball game so I'm sure I'd suck but here's my reasoning: As a Chicagoan, I've been dying to have MJ in a game back since the NBA Jam days (where he actually was rumored to be playable). Us coming up on the 20th anniversary of the Bullies '91 championship, and MJ fina...
My 7 deceptions:
1. Gamers give more of a shit about games and not the console they play them on.
2. Gamers pay for DLC thinking they'll get their money's worth.
3. Gamers pay to play -- i.e. Live. not renewed Live sub and don't plan on doing so.
4. Gamers rate the value of a game or system based on sales (looking at Alan Wake).
5. A console that has lesser graphics (Wii) must suck ass. (in direct...
I once had a friend who told my ma he was "high on life" when she questioned him about all the pot he smoked...so, my question is: can you be addicted to life then?
We all hear about these "high on lifers"...is addiction to life frightening? You eat up all that life has to offer even when it take a big shit right on you?! You get fired, loose the GF/wife, are in debt up to your ass, etc and you're all happy-go-lucky, shitz-and-gigz?!
...
While no addiction is laughable, I can't help but ask: how many people are out there whoring themselves and sucking cocks off for playing time? I keep thinking of Bob Sagat in Half Baked: "I used to suck dick for coke man, now THAT'S an addiction" (w/ the dude in the background screaming "I seen em".). Ha.
But seriously, let's start up a GA - Gamer's Anonymous - and to protect our anonymity, we can all go by our gamertags - whatever the sys...
I have a somewhat different issue w/ achievements. I absolutely hate when I 1000 a game and DLC comes out that adds maybe 200 points which I don't buy. No longer is the game listed as 100% complete b/c of the DLC achievements. Well, I didn't buy the DLC so I technically ought to be 1000/1000 / 100% complete still. I'm looking at you Resi 5.
KOTOR would be my number one for sure.
Agree with all those mentioning Star Wars games but for those I'd also add Shadows of the Empire. And definitely agree with Blast Corps. But for me.....
Alien vs Predator ala the Jaguar rendition.
Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a kick-ass X-Men game like that one that came out on Genesis.
I'm dying for this game. Fable is amongst the few games that make me scream hallelujah for owning a 360 anymore (own em all).
With this, Fallout, 2 Worlds soon, hell, I sure hope my life doesn't dwindle into Darryl's....About to start a new job soon too. Damn you Darryl, damn you. In days like this, I'd love to pull an irresponsible who gives a shit attitude...unfortunately, I do give a shit.
Yea I have - I don't like GTA games honestly, only open world game like that that I have ever truly enjoyed is InFamous oddly. When I was young (I'm about 26 now) I was a Ninty dude. That's why I never owned a prior PS. My personal cash went to ... well, let's call it "extracurricular activities" -- hobbies of the illegal sort you could say.
I forgot Twisted Metals like Zero mentioned above. Those games had me at my friends houses DAILY. Twisted Meta...
I'm a first time PS owner this gen (and am 25 in fact, almost 26) and believe at least some voters fall into that category. Having a launch PS3, I'm loving eating up games I never got to play before but...this said...I believe the voters suffer from typical short term memory.
People like what's new, better, and best. People just have a short term thinking capacity and/or, at least in my boat, never got the pleasure to play earlier PS games. PS has a long, long hi...
Demon's Souls.
I loved Uncharted 2 but actually liked 1 more (though 2 looks better, I just liked 1 more).
My experience with PS games is limited as I never owned a PS until 3 so my opinion equals dick but I do have a launch PS3 and have caught up with some great titles and must say, out of them all, it is Demon's Souls for me.
Something about that game, just ... a certain "je ne sais quoi" you could say. You get your ass ki...
Yes - Demon's Souls. Enough said.
If thrown into the ninth circle of hell and that crazy devil from the tenacious D episodes jumped out and said I may play but only 1 game for the rest of my life and that game must be from this gen, I'd be deciding b/w Souls and Oblivion......both on PS3 and the better version of Oblivion graces the PS3.
This is just asinine. The exact same article came out re the Xbox today as well and, Mr. Empire, was far less favorable to the Xbox I'd say.
I own all 3 consoles. As a PS3 owner, I have ZERO need to prove my purchase to myself (esp in that I own a launch PS3 so get to enjoy the backlog of games I never enjoyed last gen when I only owned a Gamecube). There is a blockbuster line-up on its way for PS3 - not so w/ 360.
The vast, vast majority of my lineup of ...
He did mention Demons Souls (as mentioned below by jerethdagryphon). I'd also add, and I'll get some shit for a title, the following:
Exclusives:
-Heavenly Sword - sick game, wish trophy support would come and a sequel.
-MLB The Shows - how do you omit the BEST baseball franchise out there, hell, the only baseball franchise out there imo.
-Ninja Gaiden Sigmas
-Resistances - how in the hell did they omit these????
-HD Remakes suc...
Arnon - if directed at me, I'm talking about the Millennium Edition (above I fuct up and said *addition*, my bad y'all). Me was different than 2000 but each was released in 2000.
You can listen to your iPod on Xbox, you have been able to for awhile now. You just can't listen to protected AAC files. This likely is of no fault of MSs but rather of Apple's.
Vista, imo, really got a bad wrap. It wasn't anything amazing, don't get me wrong, but it definitely was better than XP -- I believe so anyways. Now 7, better by leaps and bounds.
That millennium addition though sucked balls.
I believe, if anything, the argument could be made that they've helped gaming. I point to the numerous games that no one would have ever picked up in their right mind had it not been for wanting an easy 1000. Look at King Kong.
So...more games get played nowadays b/c of achievements as I see it. Now, certain achievements do ruin games/gaming. Certain MP achievements undermine the entire purpose of team MP and such.
As long as devs think conscientiously ...
