I'd say the beginning of PS3 was rough due to the high price point and the inability to run 3rd party games well. 360 was the base spec for a lot of devs and developing for the PS3 was a chore so games suffered. Poor frame rates, etc. But the first party exclusives were always pretty solid even early on. Think year 2. Year one was......well....
It has become self aware and is trying to kill itself.
thats the biggest issue. They seem to keep getting a pass based on having good hardware and "free" games with the game pass. I mean...that IS a great thing to have but you really can't continue to reply on legacy. You need to create new experiences.
Comment of the year.
I've been moved by a good cupcake so I cannot empathize with not being able to feel emotions playing games.
The real takeaway from this year is that console gaming is alive and very very well. What a year!
Nice little in-review, but the Nindies were a HUGE part of the success of the Switch and there is no mention. I get that the indie scene isn't as sexy but damn did they support the hell out of the Switch this year.
that's....that's a problem.
Yes, but the game must be made to the lowest common denominator: 720p for that reason.
The full statement explains it:
"It might be a hard pill to swallow for even the staunchest of Nintendo fans, but the Switch is going to need a semi-serious upgrade if it wants to stay relevant. Sony and Microsoft already have Nintendo edged out in hardware department, and both have all but confirmed new consoles in the works with rumors pointing to a release as early as 2020. As it stands now, Nintendo has been reaping benefits of its 1st-Party exclusives, deluge of ...
one day Nintendo will have 4k....
....
Sony and MS will be at 16k by then but still....one day
I give all sites a shot when it comes to opinions. Nice to see what others are thinking around the world.
Good read. Lots of personality. I have not played since DMC 2 back in the day, but do have fond memories. I do believe it is important for Capcom to his this one out of the part, though. They need to keep up the momentum of MHW.
This was a really fun show. Fryda was very enthusiastic and funny. It is amazing when we get to hear behind the scenes stories about game dev from the performance side.
Oh hey for the record: God of War is my game of the year. Didn't play Red Dead 2, but plan on it during the next lull. Thank for the comments and banter. Keep it friendly if you can. We are all part of this amazing community and should always strive to build each other up, not tear each other down. Be excellent to each other!
I believe the song is "turn turn turn" but you get it!
Thats the idea! I am okay with people having a conversation that is in contrast to my own opinions. It is just strange how people continue to blindly attack my integrity when the article was meant to be a fun celebration of a strong showing by Nintendo, regardless of losing every category! haha!
It's strange, because my twitter is mostly Kinda Funny/Giant Bomb/IGN groups. None of those are particularly Nintendo skewed. Playstation if anything...but it wasn't just Twitter. I am part of many other communities and it was overall a pretty shocking thing to see Nintendo being constantly brought up. Hell - even Sonic Fox & Celeste dominated the conversation more than the actual big award winners in RDR2 and GOW.
never played these games but this one makes me want to go back...
