I love the updated character models, but everything else is just mediocre. The UI is lifted directly from the mobile remake, the navigation is only 8 direction (original ps1 version allowed for full directional control with the joystick) and all of the added "cheats" is a disappointment. They should at least do what most games do where they give you a notice "all trophies will be turned off once this cheat is activated".
That's because it is a smartphone game that was ported to the PS4.
FFXI was an okay game. FFXII was ok. FFXIII was AWFUL and an insult to long-time fans of the series. FFXIV is a "pretty good" mmo. FFXV was mediocre at best.
NONE of these games come CLOSE to Final Fantasy's hay day. We're talking "masterfully created works of art" (FF 1 - 10) compared to "pretty decent" (FF 11 - 15). No comparison, no argument.

Well, at least it isn't as bad as XIII. That being said, yeah, it's pretty mediocre, but I'm sure some people would like to have the option to play it on the go.
I got every single trophy in FFVII EXCEPT the Barret date one. Didn't realize exactly what was required in the beginning of the game, so now I have to start all over. After like 200 hours of gameplay. W/e. W/e. It's cool........
It would be nice if they made the game Third Person (fixed camera) but allowed you to switch to first person whenever you want.
That's being released separately, actually.
