It's the most appealing console to me this year, and that's not because of the brand, that's because of the games (fall lineup).
Next year may differ.. it could be the Wii U, PS4 or XO.

They've deluded themselves into thinking the PS4 is in a league of its own. It's just another console (locked hardware).

That's actually true. People tend to buy whats trendy/popular.
The mature gamer would probably go by the games.
as for me, Whoever is offering the software I find appealing, and getting it to me first will get my money first.
