Yeah you know, because the developers of their own game can't code a visual to look different if they want to or anything like that. In fact many PC games have the visuals for an Xbox controller built right into them, Super Meat Boy comes immediately to mind.
Much agreed. The whole lot of their franchises has grown stale and old feeling. Even Diablo 3 felt that way and they just seem way too comfortable with the status quo. The preteen and teenage gamers who started with CoD and WoW are getting older now and tastes will be changing and they will need to evolve. I don't think they have it in them to do so under a guy like Kotick.
I'm sick of Square remaking the the "already remade" FF games. Multiple versions of 1, 2, 3, 4 but proper remakes in the vein of FFIV Complete nowhere to be found for 5 and ESPECIALLY 6. This enrages me.
Am I the only one watching these noticing a distinct lack of lots of powerups?
Anyone have any idea why this got pushed back? It's not like there's full development going on here, it's just a localization, which Level 5 should be good at by now considering most, if not all, of their games start as Japanese titles.

With the acquisition of Eidos IPs, SE can ride the line. On one hand, create top notch RPGs that cater to *gasp* the RPG crowd, which these days is not just straight JRPG mechanics and story, hybrids succeed and FF13-VS I feel would do really well in that space if they would ever get it off the ground.
On the other hand, then, they can cater to western gaming with already tried and true franchises that are already in reboot mode like Dues Ex, Tomb Raider, Thief, Hitman, etc....
