Close to the PC version as possible - doesn't mean - in every respect.
If for example graphic fidelity will suffer at 60fps, but improve at only 20-30fps... which trade-off would be the better choice?
Which choice would best fit - the close to the PC version as possible - statement?

> But they stated for the PS3 version they started on PC and are building the rest of the game up specifically for the PS3 (this was in another article no...
1)Most PS3 themes are free, and there are literally hundreds of free themes available, not to mention that themes on the PS3 are fully customizable and you can make your own themes.
> Are there 'premium' themes for the PS3 - yes or no?
2) There is no advertisement on PSN except within the store itself. Even there, there are no advertisements for anything other than games. On the XMB, there is not a single ad.
> Are there ads in the PSN store - yes ...
When someone 'steals ' something... it's without any payments and something is removed from somewhere.
Which stolen video game doesn't the PS3 have - that the Xbox 360 now has exclusively?
Also - FF XIII is also going to be on the PC... so according to a certain fanbase's definition of an exclusive - FF XIII was never one.
Feel sadder that sales of the PS2 are still a sign that people are buying it - instead of the PS3.
Yup... but making a profit from the original XBOX wasn't Microsofts' priority.
Establishing the XBOX brand was... and Microsoft succeeded in that area, even in an arena with two giants in the home console business with far greater experience, with a history of previously established consoles/branding. In fact... Microsoft actually beat Nintendo in console sales.
If you want to look at money lost... look at how much Sony has lost with the PS3 so far. Sony is on track ...
If you learned to read... I posted numbers reported by Media Create for the week July 6 - 12 in Japan.
The numbers you posted were for the following week.. which I asked for in my initial post.
The over all sales for the year in Japan since January 1st 2009 - including the numbers you posted would be:
Xbox 360 - 237,891
PS2 - 140,471
--> Still better than the 2000 Xbox 360 consoles sold in Japan last week.
- Here are the latest Media Create console hardware sales for the week of July 6 - 12 in Japan:
Xbox 360 - 3,561 [sales since January 1st 2009 - 235,191]
PlayStation 2 - 3,508 [sales since January 1st 2009 - 135,471]
Where are the numbers for 'last' week?
--> Being outsold 2:1 by a 10 year old console (PS2) is sad.
You must have been trul...
--> Blu-Ray and digital downloads both agree on one thing...bigger space is needed. How they achieve that is where they part ways. The fact that both of these new formats are seen as the future proves the necessity of providing a storage medium larger than DVD.
Except for one thing - the amount of actual gameplay length won't be increasing any time soon. Sure you'll get uncompressed video and audio onto Bluray discs... but the time and money it takes for additional content tha...
There were over 100 million PS sales... and over 130 million PS2 sales - yes?
So where are these loyal Sony fans among the 100+ millions where PS3 sales are concerned? The PS3 could do with a lot more of their support - yes?
Since you seem to be speaking for so many... and after what you've stated... the price shouldn't be a factor - should it?
If that is the case... then please explain why Gears of War sold as many copies as it did --> when the Xbox 360s install base was smaller when Gears of War was released on November 7, 2006 compared to the PS3s current install base?
--> I am curious to see how God of War 3 will sell being an ESTABLISHED franchise compared to many of the new ips built on the PS3.
Interestingly... Gears of War wasn't an 'established ' franchise when it was released, was it?
...
Errrr... ever heard of Gears of War 2 - Horde mode?
It was out before CoD WaW's zombie mode - which is just a twist on Horde mode.
IMO - those aren't RPG elements.
--> I don't buy the "but it has 8 million more units" nonsense. If installed user base was all that mattered to developers, no one would have made a single game for the 360...
LOL - and even less would be made for the PS3... what's less than none?
--> we'd all still be playing PS2 games - or everyone would have switched to the Wii.
But because of the PS2 install base --> there ARE games still being released on the PS2.
The units sales are one thing. Fact is - the 360 has a larger install base regardless of the circumstances.
--> I mean it would be remiss of them to ignore the fact that one is selling faster than the other, even if the one selling slower has more overall sales due to it being out longer. Wouldn't you agree?
I agree... however, since the PS3 is more powerful, and apparently more future-proof vs the 360... and since the PS3 sales vs the 360 compared to when the PS3...
--> Deal with the fact that you are delusional and cant refute facts.
That's hilarious coming from you.
--> Your big wall-o-text of post is full of failure. And quite frankly, there is nothing more irritating than to see a retarded response where some 14 year old is picking apart your previous post quote you 400 times over, each with a seperate reply.
Looks like you've been practicing being a 10 year old.
--> You think Im going to r...
--> Of course they will. This article comes as no surprise. Because PS3 is doing better than 360. Hell, anyone in the industry can see that by now.
Oh really? Better in what way? Not in unit sales worldwide.
--> PS3 has higher attach rates...
No it does not.
--> ... PS3 first and second year sales beat 360. That means that if you deduct the headstart of the 360, PS3 has a higher install base.
Except that the industry doesn...
Just so you know... if you have a broadband connection to the internet - one can buy Xbox Live arcade games without being an Xbox Live gold member. The Xbox marketplace, like the PSN service is FREE.
Most people pay to use the internet... even PS3 owners.
Why do people like the articler believe that motion control games = the end of gaming for the hardcore?
The endless streams of articles/posts exclaiming doom are based upon what exactly ...> The Wii?
1) Sony and Microsoft, and the 3rd party Publishers are not going to stop making the types of games we've been playing all along thus far, on the PS3 or 360.
2) The CASUAL games will be for those types of 'casual' gamers... it's merely another option, and...
It's the lack of ANY use of what the PS3 hardware can offer up vs the 360's hardware.
The developer themselves stated:
1) The PS3 was the lead development platform.
2) The PS3 can allow for much more going on in the game vs the 360, to be seen onscreen.
--> "We're running the same game for both platforms but if we made a PS3-only game, for example, you could double the amount of objects on screen that you're seeing," stated Rand...
Well... the PlayStation brand was supposed to be the more popular brand - especially considering the history of the PlayStation platform vs the Xbox platform - yes?
And there's so many here that claim the 360 is MORE expensive than the PS3... so pricing can't be any advantage for the 360.
Also - the Xbox brand basically doesn't have the Japanese market - but the PlayStation brand does. So the 360 only has large sales in two of the three largest world markets vs three...
