That's not a very new IP lol.
It was supposed to do a whole lot of things. The fact that it doesn't do one is not a tragedy worthy of three exclamation marks.
PS: A lead architect doesn't actually design the hardware, just so you know. Since you seem to be a bit confused about it.
@johndoe11211: I don't consider it a problem, but since everyone was getting his panties in a bunch, and no one took a second to actually explain the reason, I thought it'd be a good idea to just do it myself :D
Yanno, for the sake of actually knowing what's going on instead of running in circles like headless chickens.
Neither, it's just an explanation on the reason why it happens.
I guess you could consider it negative because it'll consume a bit more power when downloading in standby.
Nope. The mistake was that the folks at Ars technica initially thought it was ALWAYS consuming 70W while in stand by, then they noticed that it was 70W ONLY when downloading.
The ARM chip does other things, not just background downloads.
Lots of people from both sides. That's what statistics are. You take them for what they are, not as full fledged undeniable truth.
Texture resolution and rendering resolution are 100% separate things.
The rendering resolution is the number of pixels on your screen. The texture resolution is the number of pixels of the textures plastered on a game's polygons.
They've nothing to do with each other. You could easily have a game in 720p with K4 size resolution textures on the polygons, if the memory bandwidth allows.
Yeah, he's obviously talking about graphics, not about gameplay. Graphics and gameplay aren't exacyly in conflict with each other.
Mind you, I don't completely agree with the statement anyway, but still, putting graphics in comparison to gameplay is a logical fallacy. They're mostly separate issues that don't conflict with each other.
I agree a lot more about Draw distance. I'll take vistas that span reeeeally far over 1080p native personally. Killzone has that, mind you, but IMHO that and large, seamless worlds identify next gen games better.
The demos are tried were very, very enjoyable. Very different from the usual Final Fantasy, but it seems like a very good game none the less.
I normally love this kind of stuff, but am I the only one feeling that they're starting to go a bit overboard with the cheesy now?
Who knows, maybe they'll hire Hayter to voice classic snake?
It would be the least they could do, really.
@Lukas_Japonicus: it's ok. I get called damage controller and fanboy in turn for Sony, Microsoft Nintendo and even PC gaming, so I guess I'm just balanced :D
It happens with every single MMO launch. Nothing to worry about. No network can hold hundreds of thousands of people trying to log in again and again exactly at the same time.
@Sarcasm: boy, I sure hope the PS4, Xbox One or any other console will never have newegg's DOA ratios...
it's actually 15%, but after 2 years of usage. The Ps3 and the Wii had a 3%
As long as the percentage doesn't go over 3% in time, that's perfectly fine.
Eh 0.4% is minimal compared to average failure ratios.
I'm not sure, but when he was interviewed a while ago Sony's VP said it was a limit "difficult" to change.
Apparently they made it.
Yep. It says there's a difference in lighting. It doesn't say what it is due to. You're throwing in theories as they were fact.
That'd be awesome, also quite impossible lol.
