The Waiting Game

I am a Sony Playstation fan, there I said it, it is out of the way, so no one can really point the finger at me. Actually, they can, I am sure most Microsoft owners have already chosen what finger to point at me too. Do I consider myself a Playstation fanboy? No, not really. I don't take offense when a 360 owner trashes my console of choice, nor do I get defensive when I am reminded of something stupid a Sony executive has said. I still have trouble with the entire 4-D statements, and I really want to know what the drug of choice was when they designed Loco Roco. The one thing I do seem to get a tad irritated at, is the comments of PS3 owners having to wait for games, the no games on the system remarks, or the lack of triple a titles at hand for the system.

   The reason it irritates me?
Well because for the time being it is the truth.

Now before you grab me URNOT(red)E card away, and stamp a Bill Gates sticker on my back allow me to express my frustration, and express a little disappointment.
I have sat and watched games that I did have interest in come to Microsoft's machine first, while versions for my console slid past ship dates. Stranglehold, Dirt, and the latest being Half-Life : Orange Box, are just a few, and while I am sure the most die hard Sony fan will scream, "three weeks, to a month is not that bad." Well yes, yes it is bad. That is a game that I want to play that I can't play because it isn't here. I get to listen to 360 owners talk about playing games, I want to play.
I sat and saw the launch of Bioshock, Forza 2, Gears Of War, and let's be honest Halo 3 is so close I think Master Chief just took a shot at me. These games are high profile titles that I will never get to have my hands on, without purchasing a 360. Now I am not a huge Halo fan, but it would be nice to see if this game remotely lives up to it's hype. I love racing games, and I am sure Forza would be a hoot, and Bioshock seems to be at least somewhat enjoyable. So I get left out in the cold this year on those.
I also got to sit back and enjoy the Madden fiasco, which will soon turn into the Skate fiasco, as fan boys pick apart slow down, frame rates, jaggies, 7.1 sound, and disk space.
All of this was supposed to change in August with the release of some higher profile titles for the Playstation 3, only most of them went thud out of the gate. I personally hated Lair, I would rather one of you take a weed eater and attack my crotch then play that game again. I have very little interest in Heavenly Sword, or Folklore. I am so thankful for Warhawk, a game that delivered on so many levels, and has kept me up at night, cursing many PSN users, in fact, I had no idea what a passion I had for using vulgar words. Warhawk brought out the beast in me that is for sure.

The best part about all of this though? My waiting is about to come to an end. While Warhawk keeps me occupied, along with my disgusting collection of Playstation 2, and Playstation 1 titles. Ratchet and Clank looms closer, along with Uncharted, and Unreal Tournament 3. A slew of terrific multi platform games are around the bend. Assassin's Creed, Sega Rally Revo, Guitar Hero III, and Call of Duty 4.
Soon 2008 will be upon us, and Sony owners will have Metal Gear Solid 4 (my favorite game series), and Gran Turismo 5 to blister our thumbs, and while I am sure Sony's 2008 line-up will be fantastic, let us not forget the 360 owner. It would be foolish for any Sony owner to think Microsoft is going to just sit back and allow Sony to run next year without product to answer, thinking that Halo 3 will carry them to a victory. So who wins in all this mess? Me. The gamer thats who, the product will just get better and better, and my waiting? It will be well worth it.

Ok, first I am gonna pull my nose outta your ass and just say thanks for that! You said everything that is felt by every sane PS3 owner out there. So thanks!

That was actually a very, very good read. I liked how you wrote about your passions for your console because it's what YOU want, and not by bashing another system.

There is too much BS on this site, and your blog shows just how mature gamers really can be. I only wish your maturity were passed on to the posters in the comments, then there would be more news, and less flaming.

I think you very well stated every Sony PS3 owners wants, needs, doubts, and fears. From a gamer standpoint, bravo, because competition only drives developers to create better products.

From all my experiences I have realized that gamers do not have patience. I like that you are patient and loyal but how many other people will join you in your cause. I myself agree with you and stand by your side and you wait for the great PS3 games to come out but I have many doubt.

Not only am I worried about fan loyalty but I'm worried that sooner or later companies are not going to want to make games for PS3. It seems to cause so many problems. Will they say enough is enough? I guess we'll see.

Where is the time going, this is 2 now? Also, RE4 remake and Diablo 4…

Putte7h ago

Absolutely not the best Star Wars game. That's Star Wars galaxys. Survivor isn't even that good

Becuzisaid7h ago

Not sure I agree about Galaxies, but I definitely think the Jedi series is not the best.

Sonic18815h ago

So what's the best Jedi series?

Becuzisaid2h ago

@Sonic I was meaning the Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor games. Not the greatest.

If you're wanting to know what's the best series with Jedi in it? I mean KOTOR, Jedi Knight, Jedi Academy, Force Unleashed off the top of my head. Even the Episode 3 tie in game was pretty decent.

Fonsecap7h ago

Good game, terrible performance.

I loved the game but hated the issues. I waited over a year to play it and it still had major issues. I would have went for the platinum but with all the save bugs and other issues I didn’t even think about it

Sciurus_vulgaris2h ago

I’ve played both Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor. I think the games are good not great.
