Square Enix Remaking Games For PlayStation Network?

Remember about a week and a half ago, that EGM rumor stating that a Japanese publisher is remaking classics for the PLAYSTATION Network? Well, Square Enix just may be that publisher.

On Surfer Girl's (the girl with the inside scoop) blogger site, a commenter asked if she knew the company remaking classics for the PLAYSTATION Network. She simply replied "Square Enix".

Could we be seeing enhanced versions of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy Tactics soon on the PLAYSTATION Network? Let's hope that leads into a Final Fantasy VII remake.

FF8 is one of my favourites. I wasted many hours doing the card games. I managed to get all the cards have 70 hours. I have planned to record the movie parts before the disk got damaged.

Yeah but things like the first couple of final fantasys that have been receiving cinemas and extras could enter in the deal but well id be happy either way especially for things like FFT since it would allow a much better multiplayer than the portable version.

If you have ever even thought about playing an RPG you should definatly check one out. Final Fantasy X is my all time favorite game (With Zelda OOT and Metal Gear solid close behind)

Just kidding...you're missing out man. FF7 is usually the fan favorite, but if you're a first timer you'd probably complain about how the characters look. If you want to start in the series though, I'd suggest FF3 on SNES or FF8. If you can hang with those, welcome to the FF train.

If you like story and a good battle system look no further that FF7, or chrono trigger. If your looking for Lots and lots of stuff to do, look no further than FF8 or FF9. Those games are loaded with stuff. FF8 has the better story IMO.

I would actually really recommend FFX. Not saying its the best, but it is IMO the most underrated of the FF games. (FF VII was a pain to move around and climb ladders) It still has great graphics even for today. The battle system is fun and the character designs are cool or "Western enough" for new players. The story about sin is top notch and worth seeing. Whats cool is you could really start anywhere in FF since none are connected. I got my ex playing rpgs by showing her FFX.

Why would they remake Tactics? They just remade it a couple of months ago for the PSP.

Anyways... awesome news if true. Hopefully they keep to the basics and don't change too much. Keep the classics classic. I love the idea of a remake, but i have seen so many remakes gone wrong, and I don't want that happening to my favorite games.

I trust Squeenix to do a nice job though.

It's online only, takes up a few GB on the 360 hard drive, monthly fee, and boring as f*ck. I recommend playing FF12 instead

I'd fight a colony of midgets for a Xenogears remake. Or Square could remake Chrono Trigger, you know since they issued the Cease and Desist order on that AWESOME fan remake that was nigh completed. Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story (the spiritual successor), Einhander (ooh 1080p with beautimous particle effects), and Seiken Densetsu 3 all belong as well.

Really though, just freaking translate Front Mission 5 and bring it stateside, that's feasible and realistic.

I know no one's going to believe me, but if you get anyone at your Bestbuy to confirm it feel free. I work there, and if you have them look on the RSS system. You'll find a PS3 version of Final Fantasy VII. It retails for 59.99, the street date for the game is wrong however as they had it posted for november of last year. However its listed as an update. I swear to everything holy. With a price like that, it must be a Blu-ray game, otherwise if it were PSN game, why would it be in our system.
