Why one writer for One More Level thinks Kingdoms of Amalur:Reckoning is the game you should pick over Skyrim and Mass Effect 3
One of the best things about the Mas Effect series is the companions you meet along the way. So here is a tier list of all the companions from Mass Effect!
To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.
Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
This Canada Day, explore our homeland with the best video games that have adapted or reimagined the Great White North in digital form.
You listed two RPG's, and then Mass Effect 3. ?
I would easily take Skyrim over Amalur.
Yeah ...sorry but ME3 story (even with the crap ending) is FAR better than Kingdoms of Ameluers very, very forgetable story.
60 hours of Skyrim isn't really saying a whole lot. In ME3 alone I've put in over 80 hrs on 1 1/2 playthroughs
Funny article
Clearly the best gaming experience of the year was Duke Nukem forever.
What other game could throw poop at a wall and punch boobies?
Screw GOTY I'm nominating it for GOTM.
"The character building option is unique in that it allows you to approach it however way you want to without ever making it feel unfocused. You can play as a single-class character, a mix of any two, or even all three if you want; and you will still get a character that can handle themself and feel uniquely yours."
You can't do that with Skyrim? If you want to take the time you can get every skill up to 100 meaning you can choose whatever play type you want. Now race wise this might hinder you slightly and perk wise greatly but if you actually wanted to switch mid game you could. Maybe not as easily as KoA:R, but it is certainly possible.
I also noticed that while quick to criticize Skyrim for the big open world that's been done before, he actually applauds KOA:R for taking the combat system from God of war, and games similar to it.
