Jayisgames Review: Heroism is nice, but you know what's even better? A tidy profit! In Kairosoft's latest simulation for Android devices, Dungeon Village, you find yourself the mayor of a struggling little fantasy village that hasn't seen much business in years. With monsters roaming the countrysides and nearby dungeons simmering with danger, how can you possibly hope to get a coveted five star rating?
Kairosoft's Dungeon Village 2 improves upon what the first game did well but doesn't do enough to fix what it did wrong.
Kairosoft is a Japanese video game developer located in Tokyo, founded in 1996. Until 2016, they have released over 40 simulation games for mobile available in English. During my recent hunt for great demos on the Nintendo Switch, I came across several games by Kairosoft and fell in love. Since November 2019, you can play select beloved titles as demos for free, or purchase the full versions on the Switch for approximately $17 USD (or less) each.
Kairosoft games are on the Nintendo Switch now! It makes a lot of sense. These are strategy games that were designed to be played on a small screen on the go. Making the leap from a mobile device to a console would provide more exposure and help point out that these are more than brief novelties. Each game does have quite a bit of depth to it. But, there is something even more important to note about these titles.
