Razer Onza will only give you a tiny boost [gouki.com]

Tighten up your analog sticks, remap that back button, and jump into Battlefield 3 with the Razer Onza Tournament Edition controller for the Xbox 360 if you want to gain a (very small) advantage over your competition.

I've had 2 of these since launch, I enjoy the feel and it did seem to help in certain games with the more responsive buttons and such but the hardware isn't great quality.

The first one I had the left analog stick broke after a few weeks of normal use while the second one right trigger died after a month.

jthamind4907d ago

that's good to know. i have a Razer mouse and mouse pad and love them both, so i'm surprised to hear these controllers are apparently not up to standard (at least the ones you had).

Ve3tro4907d ago

Sadly it seemed to be a common thing, it may of been due to getting first batch or so.

I may buy a third if they've improved the build quality.

ThichQuangDuck4907d ago

First one I had the right trigger completely stopped working

Current one that I just got is having the analog stick problem it sucks

Wish they made this controller for 360

Only Razer product I have is an Orochi bluetooth mouse. I bought it to replace my Sony bluetooth mouse that lasted me 4 whole years. I take extreme care of everything I own, and never have things break on me... But this mouse is terrible. At first I had issues connecting the thing, then the bluetooth outright died after a month. I could only use it wired, until a month later when it just died completely.

Very disappointed, and from the sound of other comments on here, it isn't just the Orochi. Razer products might look good in pictures, but they're not quality.

ThichQuangDuck4907d ago

It seems Razer products look good but don't last like a last generation Madcatz. But I would talk to their Razer support that it is what I am doing again

Blaine4907d ago

I won't bother with support. Like Animals said, bellow: "I wouldn't use another one if it was free."

Animals_as_Leaders4907d ago (Edited 4907d ago )

I had 2 as well and both analogue sticks broke after only a few weeks.

Great responsiveness, but piss poort quality. I wouldn't use another one if it was free. I've had an MS controller for PC and it's been going strong for years.

The D-pad on the onza is also worse than the default controller.

I love Razer's pc hardware, never had any issues. When the onza works it was sweet, but I've had 5 onza's since launch. Common issue was a joystick would start jittering around. They made me mail the first couple to them, then they eventually let me physically disable them by cutting the cord and sending them a picture of the serial number with the cord cut just so I could skip the part when you send them your controller.

Won't recommend, not very durable.

bodybombs4907d ago

im on my second one right now. i love the controller itself, but the durability of it is disappointing

Pleased with Onza TE so far, lots of use but only had it 1 month. It takes some getting used to.

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

1) Hope they put it on disc this time.
2) Hope this is a positive for Neptune coming over as well.

Demons Souls5497d ago

If so, that's being developed & published by Idea Factory. Compile Heart has nothing to do with it (Thank God for that).

Godmars2905497d ago (Edited 5497d ago )

Thought Compile Heart was one of the companies lending characters.

Was also speaking in general as in regards to a US of Neptune. If these guys are offing a second game, NIS or Atlus, both of whom offer quirkier titles, will put that one out.

@kagon01:
My issue isn't - wholly - with the DL-only option, but the price. The first game should be $30. Maybe $40, and by that I mean $39.99. The only reason its $45 is the 360 disc version which has extras. Nevermind that by all rights its a PS2 game. Something that proabbly could have been done if the devs had the GOW2 engine or tools.

ClownBelt5497d ago

I approve of this god damn message.

Could have gotten my 60 bucks if they just put it on a disc.

Another exclusive damnn the ps3 keeps on rollin wit games awesome ;)

Jack-Pyro5497d ago

Is this a half decent SRPG, porn aside, cause if it is, i might just decide to go and buy it for the 360.

Anon73495497d ago

There's no porn just some sexual innuendos but that's it.

Also it is a great game by itself, maybe not graphically but everything else is top tier.

RedDevils5497d ago

so it had some kind of "top tier" porn story jk

ThanatosDMC5497d ago

Yup, it's a decent game. I just hate that a move has to go first before any attack options.
