Blogcritics: Let me be quite specific: you should definitely play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – it is breathtaking and wonderful. It is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best game this reviewer has played all year. The game's menus could use some work and I did notice the occasional problem graphical glitch quickly switching from being underwater to being above it, but every issue with have the game is but a minor quibble.
That judicious lack of oversight permeated everything in Bethesda's RPGs, in a positive fashion.
I much prefer a left alone Obsidian and Larian Studios. Bethesda's formula has grown old for me.
Skyrim blew my mind when it released. That game took me to the gaming, promisedland. Going back to it when it was updated for the PS5, it felt slightly rough around the edges, but great for its time
We should leave Obsidian alone. Bethesda on the other hand should be kept under constant psychiatric observation.
Big Bethesda Nintendo Switch eShop sale now live with lowest prices ever for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Doom (2016), and more.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been updated to support true Physically Based Rendering thanks to the release of Community Shaders 1.0.
It's that buggy. And no it's not that good. It's a big open world where you go do stuff for people. Some of the best side quests I've ever played, but there is nothing aside from the wish to complete tasks that keeps me playing this game. I don't care about Skyrim or he people in it so the Dragons can take it IMO, and I have yet to feel what the pulse of this game is. In pulse I mean whats driving the character and the world forward. They kind of hit that you should probably kill some dragons but they don't seem to care whether you do or don't. Everything in this game is pretty "eh".
I think what has captivated a lot of people is how big it is and just how free it feels. If you don't want to kill that dragon, go do something else, no one seems to really care. Your a just a dude running around, your not the be all end all that some games make you out to be. At least thats the vibe I've gotten from the game so far. Also the PC version is one hell of a pretty game so thats probably why they're so into it.
IMO it's really good game but not a great one. But most of you guys don't agree with me half the time anyway so who care what I have to say lol.
It is fitting that here on N4G and for a PS3 review, there is a lot of resentment for the best game this gen. You guys can cry about the game not being perfect all you want. The fact is there is no game that will satify eveyone on this earth. When you all calmdown and read what the general concensus is,you will realize that most people disagree with you. Sysrim will end up being voted GOTY by more sites than any other game this year, and by any other game this gen for good reason.
I understand that some of you have good reason to be angry and some of you just want to hate something, but you can not change the fact that the game is a great game. GOTY winner does not mean it has to be the game you like the most, it is just the best game made as voted by the masses.
