PSA: Skyrim 1.3 patch breaking auto-saves, causing various problems

VGW: Only hours after the much-needed 1.3 patch for Skyrim has been released for Xbox 360 (and PS3 in Europe), users are beginning to report a variety of new bugs and unfixed issues. Some of the complaints include infinitely hanging loading screens, dragons that don’t give souls when defeated, Lydia falling through floors, and broken auto-saves.

The dragons not giving souls was pre-patch its been happening for me on os3 for the last few days that I've noticed, but now I think about it I don't remember the last time I got one..

Jesus f'ing Christ... Stop patching Skyrim Bethesda, until you do some proper testing or something. Dont rush it,you are doing the exact opposite!

JaredH4932d ago (Edited 4932d ago )

It happened to me once or twice during the first week the game was out before any patch that wasn't released day one and same with the freezing on autosaves but that was after 1.2.

Every Bethesda game has had problems though and imo the games fun and worth while anyway.

Yeah, I was too broke to buy skyrim but I plan to later. The only solace I can give myself about waiting till later is I would hope most of these issues are solved by then. And maybe a GOTY edition.

Still...I'm sure it's worth it regardless of bugs.....

What's the point of patches awaiting certification from Microsoft etc when more problems occur.

It all sounds like us skyrim fans become post beta testers for something we've fully paid only to encounter more bugs that we're not getting paid anything back for as game testers. lol.

The infinite loading screen one happened to me way before the patch.

I got that on 1.2 couldn't hit the ps button either. Was stuck so i hit the reset button turned it back on and it said the file system was messed up and that it had to restore I thought that i was F'ed and was going to lose everything but when it was done everything was there. I am so Tired of this sh!t with bethesda. As hard as it's going to be I am not touching that game till it is confirmed to be working.

Snookies124932d ago

Wow, just wow... I love Skyrim, but this is getting ridiculous... How about getting some people in there who can actually do things right?

ziggurcat4932d ago

leave it to bethesda to not fix things properly despite claiming that they have...

i have only played this game for about 2 hours and i'm not going to continue until these issues are resolved, which may mean that i'll never play this game ever again.

MS could compress their games on disc

Skyrim is still my favorite ES game. I’m playing through it again right now since I never finished it.

Morrowind is by far my favorite. But I’m getting old and played Daggerfall Morrowind and Oblivion before Skyrim

ActualWhiteMan32d ago

Yeah totally. Definitely won’t be hacking it Nintendo 🤞🏻

Fallout and Skyrim show us that talented developers make great games when you leave them alone

That judicious lack of oversight permeated everything in Bethesda's RPGs, in a positive fashion.

I much prefer a left alone Obsidian and Larian Studios. Bethesda's formula has grown old for me.

anast59d ago

Larian hit another level with DOS:2 and then took it even further with BG3. They do high quality work.

Skyrim was a letdown compared to previous games and so was Fallout 4

Kosic60d ago

I agree, I found it an interesting game. But nowhere near worth the hype (unless you include mods)

dmonee60d ago

Skyrim blew my mind when it released. That game took me to the gaming, promisedland. Going back to it when it was updated for the PS5, it felt slightly rough around the edges, but great for its time

TheColbertinator60d ago

We should leave Obsidian alone. Bethesda on the other hand should be kept under constant psychiatric observation.

Skyrim feels like the game was made in a hurry with a disorganized team.

At this point, if you still don't have these games, just wtf are you even doing?
