Xbox 360 Fall Dashboard Update Now Live

According to Larry Hyrb's (Major Nelson's) Twitter, the new Xbox 360 dashboard fall update is on its way for download to all 35 million Xbox LIVE members worldwide. Wondering what is new with this update? Make sure to check out DrDogbert's article for all the details.

It live on the East coast but expect a few error messages before it's downloaded. I do find it incredibly slow and have gotten a few XBL connection errors as well.

Well worth the wait if you ask me just wish I had Kinect because I can see how it would work good with this update.

My biggest problem with the Dashboard is that you have to navigate through too many menus. XMB is much faster for finding stuff. I just wish the XMB was as fast as the Dashboard while playing a game.

I just said "xbox bing halo 3" and there it was! I didn't have to navigate through any screens!

Most don't have or want Kinect so....yeah. Honestly the 720 might just have a built in mic just for voice commands. Microsoft is really pushing the voice thing for some reason.

I am receiving the same error too. It is stating that I cant connect to xbox live. When I do the test it passes all connections except to xbox live. I cant do anything right now... :( any suggestions?

Not that I'm happy to hear that people are having a problem getting connected. I'm just happy I'm not the only one. I'm getting the same message too. Dammit, I wasn't even jumping on to get the update. I just wanted to play Saints Row III with my homie. Oh well... *jumps on MarioKart 7* This'll have to do till they straighten it out.

Edit: Ok, now it half updated. I got the new dashboard, but my connect functionality doesn't work and I'm still not online with it.

Ok, I checked with xbox.com and it is a widespread issue. I'm guessing they are slowly releasing the update to prevent server overflow... I guess? Maybe? Anyway, it will be up tomorrow I'm sure. No BF3 tonight. :(

There is status updates for apps as well, not just Xbox Live now. That's pretty cool.

... but yeah, it seems this update is slowing down a bunch of services. At least matchmaking still works.

I hate how they put trials and full games in the same folder, it was much better separated. Also, I can't find how to change my theme. Other than that, it seems to be an okay update.

ugh.. i missed the successful update window of opportunity, now Live is fucked for the rest of the night.. UPDATE, I GOT IT!< just had to Sign in/Sign out a bunch of times. kinda like getting a place in line i guess!, now lets see how this thing handles! :)

I was in the beta, but after the final update came out, it feels a lot faster.

The new design is basically the XMB on PS3. Everyone was bitching about the XMB saying its "sh!t" and now the layout for the dashboard is practically the same. The only differences are the square tiles on Xbox and the categories are in a different order.

PS3 XMB order
Profile - Settings - Images - Music - Video - TV - Game - Network - PSN - Friends

Xbox 360 order
Bing - Home - Social - TV - Video - Games - Music - Apps - Settings

Home and Profile is the same. Bing/Social/Apps is Network on PS3. Settings at the start on XMB and at the end of Xbox Dashboard. Both have every other option, Images on Xbox is a sub categories. No difference besides design.
