As someone on the site said "is this the reason reviewers got their PS3 copies late"

I'd say it almost certainly is. They knew there was a fault with the memory usage and thought they could do something about it with an early patch which hasn't worked and now they're sitting with thumb lodged firmly in ass with a game on one platform that isn't just buggy, but is becoming slowly unplayable for many people.

FanboyPunisher4956d ago

Or a PC.

Couldn't deal with that terrible performance.

Bethesda cheated, lied, scammed PS3 owners and PS3 reviewers are just as guilty.

Bethesda knew about the problem and tried to hide it and released it anyways. Had I known about this problem I would have never bought it on release. But all this talk about a new game engine and NOT A SINGLE MENTION BY ANY PS3 REVIEWER lead me to believe that this wasn't the usual bug infested broken release disaster Bethesda has now solidly cemented their reputation with.

Lets be clear about what Bethesda has done here-they purposely knowingly CHEATED, LIED, STOLED, COMMITTED FRAUD with Skyrim. Bethesda stoled $60 from every PS3 owner who bought this broken frustrating disaster of a game. Where is the class action lawsuit!

That lawsuit must include every PS3 reviewer who gave Skyrim a perfect score. A perfect score! Perfection means no flaws, errors, problems, mistakes; it can`t get better because you can`t improve on what is perfect. Not a single PS3 reviewer mentioned this major bug that makes the PS3 version unplayable. These PS3 reviewers LIED! They were all collectively talking out of their asses.

Skyrim clearly shows that Bethesda is a studio of con artists that must be sued out of business to send a message to other studios that you can`t cheat hundreds of thousands of customers and get away with it. What if you bought a Bluray player that freezes after you use it more than 3 hours continously. You`d bring it back and demand your money back! Would you accept the company telling you to just unplug and replug the machine and everything will be fine for another hour. No fracking way!

Skyrim also clearly shows that many of these reviewers don`t really properly review games. The gaming review industry has shown that it is not a professional industry with standards but made up of whole bunch of dishonest lazy scumbags that lie and get an easy paycheck. I remind you that NOT A SINGLE PS3 REVIEWER MENTION THE SKYRIM LAG PROBLEM. NOT A SINGLE ONE! Instead they all say that was a perfect GOTY material. blah blah blah. All bullshit! Every one of those reviewers were caught red handed. No excuses or explanation can get them out of this fraud.

Skyrim made the headlines alright but for all the wrong reasons. It proved without a doubt that:

1) Bethesda is a studio that habitually release broken games and try to get away with it and will continue to do so forevermore.
2) PS3 reviewers are con artists and liars.

Bethesda keeps pulling that crap with all their rpg on ps3 .

If you can't deliver on the console , be it your fault or the console's , dont release it .

But since they will never be that honest and upfront about it , ps3 owners needs to boycott bethesda's rpgs on release , and check beforehands if the game isnt broken before buying it

Unfortunately Devs just dont test their games these days before release. Release now patch it later is the attitude.

Personally i am a PC gamer. I dont prepurchase games any more. I only buy them after launch once i know the game runs well, even though most of the time on the PC platform due to brute force most games run fine. However its really a shame devs are not testing a game before releasing it a console which is a fixed piece of hardware.

gamingdroid4956d ago

The thing with testing is that it doesn't reveal all issues. Developers test for a lot of things, and they can't foresee all the issues.

As the article suggest this might be due to Garbage Collection, which is a difficult topic especially for something as performance as resource constrained as a game. Memory leak is also another suggestion. The PS3 has a tighter memory constraint.

The other thing indicated is the hard drive issues on the PS3. There might be some data fragmentation issues on the PS3, because of the way the data is laid out as well.

Hopefully Bethesda will fix this... from what I hear the game is great and people on my friends list is playing it religiously.

Baka-akaB4956d ago

Well it's might always be something different each game , and obviously not on purpose , but the fact is bethesda own's game or dlcs always got issues at release on ps3 , it's time some gullible people took notice of that and prepared beforehand , just in case .

I have a pc so the de facto choice was skyrim pc , but even if i was a ps3 only owner , i'd take cautions with that developer and not be rushed into buying the game , or at least be aware of the risk .

BigBoss19644956d ago

How the fuck does Bethesda get away with this?

T9004956d ago

Well dont prepurchase games, its that simple. Once they know we wont buy crap they will be getting over the release now patch later attitude.

BigBoss19644956d ago

Haven't bought Skyrim at all =P

MasterCornholio4956d ago

So much for them saying that Skyrim on the PS3 got a ton of attention.

Anyways im off to fight the storm cloaks and slay a few dragons on The PS3.

MS could compress their games on disc

raWfodog44d ago (Edited 44d ago )

Skyrim is still my favorite ES game. I’m playing through it again right now since I never finished it.

jznrpg33d ago

Morrowind is by far my favorite. But I’m getting old and played Daggerfall Morrowind and Oblivion before Skyrim

ActualWhiteMan43d ago

Yeah totally. Definitely won’t be hacking it Nintendo 🤞🏻

Fallout and Skyrim show us that talented developers make great games when you leave them alone

That judicious lack of oversight permeated everything in Bethesda's RPGs, in a positive fashion.

Christopher73d ago

I much prefer a left alone Obsidian and Larian Studios. Bethesda's formula has grown old for me.

anast71d ago

Larian hit another level with DOS:2 and then took it even further with BG3. They do high quality work.

jznrpg72d ago (Edited 72d ago )

Skyrim was a letdown compared to previous games and so was Fallout 4

Kosic71d ago

I agree, I found it an interesting game. But nowhere near worth the hype (unless you include mods)

dmonee71d ago

Skyrim blew my mind when it released. That game took me to the gaming, promisedland. Going back to it when it was updated for the PS5, it felt slightly rough around the edges, but great for its time

TheColbertinator71d ago

We should leave Obsidian alone. Bethesda on the other hand should be kept under constant psychiatric observation.

anast71d ago

Skyrim feels like the game was made in a hurry with a disorganized team.
