“Nude Females” is NOT the Most Popular Skyrim Mod

Today a news piece on GameZone claimed that “Nude Females” is the most popular mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

While many just expected it, and thought it to be true, turns out that such a headline is actually quite false.

Actually a lot of people care what the popular mods are. Generally speaking, popular mods are good mods.

When I downloaded Baldur's Gate 1&2 fairly recently, the first thing I did was look up the most popular mods.

As HardCover said, the most popular mods tend to be the best, highly rated ones that you'd want.

This mod is for 14 year olds with porn filters they are too inept to bypass. It seems stupid having all the women in the game nude. Talk about breaking the immersion.

I do have the no more blocky faces mod though- thats a worthy mod. First thing i noticed early in the game were these weird lego faces and now they are disposed of. Sweet.

When I say that no one cares, I mean that they don't care in the sense that it's some kind of a contest. Of course we judge a mod by how popular it is. For instance, when I download Portal levels, I go for the most popular first. The same with LBP levels. But I don't care if "Fantastic Little Big Voyage" is THE most popular mod, or if it's just a popular mod. It doesn't matter. As long as it can be found if wanted, then no one cares if it's popular (besides the person who created it).

How long till the ESRB bans this in the US and gives it an AO (banned) rating?

They didn't with Oblivion, so there's no reason for them to do it with Skyrim.

The ESRB can only base ratings on what the game includes by default. They bumped up Oblivion from T to M because it had naked skins for ladies already drawn on the textures under the underwear. Skyrim already started with M, so there's no ground to change that rating.

It was a mod, to enable content already there in the game. It didn't actually add the stuff, just enabled the stuff Rockstar shipped.

No, it was locked content in the game. They actually intended to have it be a part of the game but decided not to, they made the mistake of never removing the data however and modders found it.

Actually it is, the most popular mod, more people are talking about Skyrim's version of BBB/DMRA.. (If you follow TES mods you know what those are) .. than anything else.

realy now? cuz i happened to keep up with the modding community stuff & just like ALL bethesda games in the beginning the most popular & anticipated mods are mod manager & script extender. i think its fair to say some of the most popular & advance mods that have came later use script extender

also those mods werent intended to make TES/Fallout nude, they were intended to improve the character models so you cant even use those mods in defense of this argument

Mods that fix the game graphics are more popular lol. Yes I would call the post-processing a fix, makes the game look a lot nicer and doesn't touch the frame rate (at least not for my, and my PC isn't high end).

I think the consoles could run those post processes too - not just PC. PS3 runs MLAA I think already and there are other games that are doing more complecated tasks on the SPUs than skyrim will be. Also post processing wouldn't require any more than a few hundred bytes of system ram to handle method calls & interrupts etc. PS3's bottlenecks are in the graphics chip and the RAM. 360 almost certainly has enough pixel shaders power to do this tiny amount of processing - my 280GTX has a lot more power yes, but it's shader capped on my PC and running the mod didn't hurt my frame rate at all (I can turn it on and off in runtime, makes it look nicer without hurting frame rates).

He's correct in saying that the Nexus is the place to go. That's where I got all of my Oblivion mods.
In order to get files larger than 5MB (I think it's 5) you have to sign up. But it's free and worth the trouble.
