Keep the great scores coming.

king054935d ago

So why are none of these scores posted on metacritic at the drop of a hat...

Game0N4935d ago

it takes some time to update all the scores, also this site might not be listed on meta

BigBoss19644935d ago

It's funny how metacritic puts up the negatives quickly

metsgaming4935d ago

honestly how does metacritic determine what a "legit" site is anyway. They have sites that go up there that constantly trolling for hits with their reviews and yet they are "legit" but if you look at smaller sites they dont put them up because.....? Honestly if you make a web site that combines many reviews to give an average then add all websites.

ElDorado4935d ago

This. Even better would be if the sites were checked before they put them on Metacritic. If it's a 10, but it's a poor written review then decline it on Meta, if it well written and it gets a 10 add it to the site. Right now there is a list of sites, no matter how poorly it's been written, it will be on Metacritic. The system is stupid, here on N4G you can actually add any review and it will be in the system.

geddesmond4935d ago

Do you have to pay a fee to get your site included??

king054935d ago

Thats exactly why I look at N4g as the "metacritic", they include all the scores and even with the C, the total still stands at 95.

TheFallenAngel4935d ago (Edited 4935d ago )

It's at 93 and not 95.

Arksine4935d ago

He's talking about N4G's metascore, which currently stands at 9.5.

iamnsuperman4935d ago

big difference on metacritic a c is 5 and on N4G it is 7. So the score isn't really going to be that affected by a 7 than a 5. Apart from that I agree. More sites should be added. Also get rid of the weighting system because even the big sites have some bias. N4G metacritic is ok because it offers more reviews but any site that gets approved is allowed (even the poor ones)

Pintheshadows4935d ago (Edited 4935d ago )

A + 10, A 9.5, A- 9, B+ 8.5, B 8, B- 7.5, C 7.

How does metacritic work out that C is a 5.

I'm really confused. That doesn't seem to be possible on that scoring scale.

Even A+ 10, A 9, A- 8, B+ 7. B 6 B- 5 C+ 4.
Or A 10, B 9, C 8.

Is there a special metacritic secret.

TheFirstClassic4935d ago

Yeah I'm not sure how C=5 either. Somebody needs to explain this.

geddesmond4935d ago

N4G has a meta. Crap I usually go to gameranking because they don't include some of those BS troll websites.

Papertiger4935d ago (Edited 4935d ago )

Site awards 10/10 and there's no one around in the comments. Site gives uncharted 3 a score lower than than 9 and its flooded with comments.

Controversy does sell. Point blank.

iamnsuperman4935d ago (Edited 4935d ago )

I agree. The AV club review for instance is right on the front page but that review needed to be called out since it was barely a review. The eurogamer one got coverage because it was an 8 but reading that review I felt like he didn't enjoy it as much as others and so I could see why the score got what it did. Its like any game that has a big following. Anything less than a 9 is seen as bad which needs to change as an 8 is good.

clintagious6504935d ago

This is what happens when u find an amazing game that isnt on your console of choice, u get bs reviews like the av club review who ive never heard of until now. This is what happens when u also dont send a duffle bag full of goodies, u get hate reviews from unknown sites lol. Keep up the bs reviews because its not going to stop uc3 from winning goty awards. :)

Great review by the way.

metsgaming4935d ago

You never heard of av club well now you do their troll review worked. Now people have heard of their lame website because of a trolled review. A major accomplishment in their eyes. This isnt just for reviews it goes for regular articles aswell. Seems like all journalism is doing stuff like that as well.

Papertiger4935d ago

It gets worse.

The av club reviewer is Scott Jones. He's a "gaming journalist" *eyeroll* who runs a weekly show in Canada called "Reviews on the run". This guy has proclaimed him self as a 360 gamer who says his ps3 serves as nothing more than a blu-ray player.

Not only has this guy smeared uncharted 3's metacritic score once, he turned around and scored it with a 6.5 with another website which is completely unfair and uncalled for. Him and Victor lucas are going to dedicate an entire "overhyped" segment on naughty dogs uncharted 3 on tuesday on their Reviews on the Run show.

They obviously want to play a hand in the controversy in order to gather some attention to their obscure and unheard of show.

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."
