Yet Another Gaming Show Episode 266 – The More Things Change…

Looking through the outline this week, it’s amazing how little gaming culture has really evolved since we started the show.

I mean, this week we’ve got yet another Sony hack, some PC gaming maven yammering about a potential one-console future, a major hardware release potentially being delayed, people bitching about multiplayer and Scribblenauts coming out…again. At least we haven’t had a games-related shooting or Tony Hawk game to talk about <shudder>.

We mention it a dozen times or more on the show this week, but a huge thanks to Games N Go and everyone that came out last weekend to help support Extra Life. If you haven’t donated yet, there is is still a few days left, and we’d love to get over our new goal of $2500 before then. We are already planning next years events, we had so much fun.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast158d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine158d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast158d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman158d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast158d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave406d ago (Edited 406d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
