WARNING NOTE: CONTAINS CAMPAIGN SPOILERS!
An alternative view to Gears of War 3's recent rave reception.
In retrospect, it makes sense that the most memorable moment in Gears of War 3 is -spoiler-.
For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
Gears of War 3 and Judgement servers have returned to their "updated" condition, adding several features, such as increased XP and more.
I currently play Gears 3 often, especially after the 60 FPS Boost. Gears of War is my favorite gaming franchise, and the Locusts are the coolest faction in history. Gears Judgment will always be a disgrace for not having the Locust in VS multiplayer.
GoW 3 and Judgement were the last installments before the series went woke and soulless. I'm level 50 in GoW 3 and LOVE it's multiplayer to death. It's just so crispy.
The Xbox 360 is one of the most successful consoles ever made, and the best games in its library are a huge part of why.
That is the most "normie" list that I ever saw. This does make some sense given the console in question, but still.
Might as well list it as the One's top twenty as well since all it had for games was backward compatibility.
I haven't even had chance to play the campaign yet, the multiplayer is so damn addictive.
I love the mp....minus the noobs with sawed offs.
But, the story was good. It wasn't great like reviews suggest. In my opinion. I never had a wow moment or a moment of reflection. Plenty of strings left untied too.
This article should be titled "Why Hipsters with Liberal Arts Majors and Skinny Jeans Shouldn't Play Gears of War 3"
---Haha, best comment on there.
Written like a piss poor term paper with unnecessary vocabulary and everything BUT a point or an official opinion. Basically he doesn't like the game because of machismo and the fact that things try to kill you that take more bullets than he wants to fire. Reads like he has a thing against gaming more than this game. /yawn
I do agree that this essay seemed to lack a cogent theme. Either that or he had booked his tickets to the oscars and was dissapointed that cliffy wasnt there. It is what it is and no one should b shocked that they didnt stray to far from previous entries.
With that said, the campaign reminded me of killzone 3. After touting the aquisition of a professional writer and raving about the turn towards emotion and cohesion, it ends up being basically more of the same. For gears, this plus improved online content polished superbly was enough to garner a well deserved 9+. For k3, the story actually became the focal point of well deserbed criticism. I still had alot of fun and the helghast remain my favorite antagonists, but my expectations were much higher than the final product...thank goodness it was gorgeous and much like gears ita online component redeemed itself.
All i know is that after playing both gears and killzone3, i wish i had been given the opportunity to pen it, as both desereved a much better ending to their respective trilogies. But, gears remains one of the best complete products of 2011 thus far.
