good review, i own both collectors versions of ico and sotc (the original ones with art cards, lucky i know but the card cases now look like they're made of loo roll) so im not sure if its worth me picking up the hd release.

Yeah its probably betterwithout the numbers since those are up for interpretation. Most people think anything that isnt a 9 or higher is a bad score. I like your way of saying "its worth a buy". The buy, rent, or pass scale is much easier to understand.

@trophy i agree. also, i think scores are lazy, if a review is written well and structured properly, i should be able to discern whether a game is worth a buy and its acclaim without looking at the number.

i guess for some people its about convenience but it just seems like these numbers are being used by people to brand games they've read nothing about.

i think its healthy if people find a reviewer they can relate to (tastewise) and make informed decisions based on their preferred critics response

This was a day one purchase the minute HD remake was said i love these two masterpieces and i still own the ps2 copies. When i sit down to play these two again i will make sure no one disturbs me lol.

I can finally play through Ico. It was difficult to get hold off on PS2 here in Norway in its later days, so I only got to play the demo.

And I actually have Shadow, but I have to admit I never finished it. Great game, but the frame rate issues made me put it off.

Now I can't wait ot play them both in HD...

I have a OG phat launch 60GB, thats the only reason I don't want to get rid of it. I waited for 4 days in a cold ass line to get it, otherwise I would have sold it for parts or for somebody to fix it. But Craigslist has listings for repairmen I just need extra money, I should be able to get it replaced before UC3 releases which is the one game I have to get at launch.

I know your pain. Mine is crapping out on me too. I can still play downloaded games and use it for Netflix, but it won't play discs anymore :( Gonna have to finally get around to getting another soon.

That being said, I'll definitely have to pick this collection up at some point. I'm one of those that missed out on it the first time around.

So many games to get. And more coming out. I too definitely have to get UC3 the day it releases. Plus really want Skyrim.

I actually did miss out on these games the first time around and it just so happens that I own a PS3. Seems like a no brainer to me.
