ThisisXbox writes: Microsoft today announced that its Windows Phone platform will support a new age rating certification programme known as PEGI Express. This programme is aimed at those developing mobile games, enabling them to submit information about the content of the game which, in turn, allows for an age rating to be applied to the game in a matter of minutes. This will ultimately enable parents to have more control over the content that their children are accessing on their mobile phone whilst out of the house.
PEGI is currently investigating the issue.
to be honest, the whole age rating system needs a big overhaul. people are not as sensitive as some of these make us out to be ha.
The Video Standards Council, which administrates the PEGI age rating for video games, has rebranded to the Games Rating Authority (GRA).
The name change was attributed to further clarifying the ratings board's position to parents and the games industry.
