I am betting the MGS2 version will be the one from the xbox. Just making the connection as that one was done with nvidia gpu in mind and to port to the ps3 with nvidia gpu should be quite easy.

They needed to add in mgs twin snakes. Mgs is still great but on a 46 in hdtv its pretty unbearable, on psp its okay. Twin snakes looked as good/better than mgs2. Also should add portable ops, i loved that game.

Why the FU** did i sell my copy of twin snakes years ago? STUPID lol. What if we get twin snakes on 3ds! That would be dope.

throughout the catalog of Nintendo there is nothing like this (twin snakes was a shitty port).

I've already played this so why would I buy it again? It just shows how stupid people are today. MGS3 is most likely the best game in the series and I played it over and over again back when it came out.

But I would never be dumb enough to buy it again. IF you've never played any of the MGS games then this collection is definitely for you, and if you've never played MGS3 then you could easily find a used copy for about £5.

Anyone who's played them all and buys this collection is an idiot. People nowadays complain about money so much yet you wonder why that is?

I have played MGS1, MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4, guess what I will be doing – buying this awsome collection! You wanna know why? It’s not because I’m rich, it’s because I love MGS and I only have my PS3 (sold my PS1 & PS2 long time ago along with MGS’s) and even IF I had them, imagine how those games would look on a 40” screen, and no SDTV is not an option. Besides, whats to complain you get 5 games for a price of 40$, thats 40/5 = 8$ per game, which comes on a single, almost scrach-proof BLU-RAY with great graphics to boot. You would have to be stupid NOT to buy this collection, if you have a PS3.

I wouldn't buy it again just to see how it looks on a 40" HDTV. If the games good then I wouldn't even care if I had to play it on a tube TV.

I played it the best possible way I could back then when it came out. For example the best possible way to play UC2 right now in it's true quality is on a HDTV, so 10 years from now re-selling it to me as a remastered PS3 classic in UHD and telling me "this is how it's supposed to be experienced" is stupid.

So me playing it now on an HDTV in 720p was the wrong experience? PS2 games in HD don't look any better apart from reduced jaggies and better colour so what's the point? If they remastered MGS 1,2,3 & 4 every new gen of consoles would you buy it every single time?

An easy way to play an old game you like is to keep the copy of the game, If you don't have it then there's obviously a reason why you got rid of it in the first place, so buying into the hype and getting the same game again in HD would make you look like a gullible idiot.

I never once implied, that you have to buy this for "this is how it's supposed to be experienced", I told you that I don't have my PS1 nor my PS2 anymore, so the only way for me to experience MGS all over again is to buy this collection. As I mentioned, I sold my old consoles with my games, so I could forward that money for „next-gen” one, I’m not rich, remember!? Or do you want to tell me, that buying a new/used PS1/PS2 and then purchasing MGS for them is somehow cheaper and better??? Granted, if you have your old consoles and MGS games, then you may not want to buy it, but c’mon, personally I am a little spoiled now playing on my HDTV and would gladly shell out money for an improved experience of my all time favorite franchise.
Besides, where is demand there is offer, and I would be happy to contribute to my franchise staying alive longer, then being a faint memory in my and other peoples minds.

I am stuck at a crossroads. I think it is great that all of my favorite games are getting an HD treatment, but I think I am going to have to pass on this. I really would like to save my money and pay for developers that are doing new things and coming out with new games that are amazing. I don't want to live in the past. The originals are still playable and IMO aren't really that much in need of an upgrade.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Peace Walker. Port that sucker to the PS3 so I will play it. I own a PSP, but I don't enjoy handheld gaming much. I don't travel a lot.

It's basically the collection, a download code for MGS1 from PSN, MGS4, art cards in a steel case.

The only thing we are missing is an HD version of MGS1: Twin Snakes.

Although I think Ninty has the exclusive rights for that one even if Konami was the one that published it :/

No matter what some so called Metal Gear purists say about the Twin Snakes it was a great updated version of the original MGS that was produced and overseen by Hideo Kojima and has his full approval.

I still play the Twin Snakes at least once a year on my trusty old gamecube. The graphics still look OK even today especially when compared to the now ancient PSone original Metal Gear Solid that would look absolutely HORRIBLE to the majority of todays gamers no matter how konami updated the game.

There is just no way that any type of graphical upgrades could make the original PSone Metal Gear Solid look even acceptable on todays HDtvs.
Konami stated that in fact that was the reason why the first Metal Gear Solid was not included in this collection.

It looks as though the Twin Snakes will never be released as it was a very detailed contract with Nintendo as a true exclusive.

Too bad as the ultimate Metal Gear Solid collection would be - Metal Gear Solid : the Twin Snakes , Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3.

I played through both MGS2 and MGS3 more times than I care to remember.

I stopped playing most of my PS2 games after I got a new HDtv a few years ago simply because the PS2 looks bad on any HDtv no matter what connection you use the PS2 games look faded and washed out.

I cant believe how good Metal Gear Solid 3 looks in that pic on an HDtv.

Day one for me.
Cant wait to finally get me some achievements and trophies on a Metal Gear game.

On a side note : was I the only one that was severely dissapointed that Kojima and his team never released a trophy patch for Metal Gear Solid 4 ?

This will probably be day 1 for me, but you know what would be awesome?! If kojima snuck in trophies for MGS4, imagine you're prompted to download a day 1 patch and in the patch notes you read "MGS4 now has trophy support" load in the pants and game gets an instant replay. Theory, but that would be so sick.
