UC3 wins in a sweep! Everything they said was true, I'm surprised the kotaku guy not only picked UC3 but actually said what everyone is thinking about the Gears series; that its gone stale.

If Gears has gone stale, that would mean less people will buy it, right? UC3 will do fine, but expecting it to beat Gears 3, is setting yourself up for disappointment. I am not saying which will be better, as I have no idea what that outcome will be. What I can say is that it will comes down to personal preference. Gears is a more aggressive and gory type of game. UC is more feness and style with jumping and climbing.

From where I stand they look to be to great games coming to your console of choose. Grear will sell more because the US is the biggest market, for both of these types of shooters. Americans will choose aggression over finess shooter. That and 360 has the bigger user base here. Same for UK.

going stale doesnt mean that less people would buy it. look at cod for example, the game is basically the same every year, yet each game sells more than the last one...O_o

There's also a problem with PS3 users.
They don't buy so much great exclusives of the console. Clearly there are more exclusives big AAA game on PS3 than XB360 since couple of years now, but still PS3 users don't go to fully support their great licence.
They are all on forums for the console wars but they don't support the games on the market. Really sad.

At a moment in the emission, one intervenant is talking about God of War, very famous licence in the US. The other superproducion of Sony is Gran Turismo, but it makes more sell in europe than the US. Thos two licence are top scorers there's no doubt about it. Gran Turismo is selling more than any Forza outhere. What makes those licence so famous when great games like Uncharted are clearly top notch exclusives.

When you see pre-order for Gears of war 3 growing and going over the million, at the same time Uncharted 3 is just making 130000 preorders.

Supporting a game is not make quote wars on forums on wich game is the best, has the best graphics or anything else. Supporting game is buying it when it's released.

There are about 55 millions PS3 users in the world and only 130000 have preordered what is considered by Gametrailers a potential GOTY, and somehow a better experience than Gears 3. That's a shame.

The game will sell well some would say it's not a big deal, it's gonna be bundled and after 12 or 15 months it will be over millions, but nothing for the moment that show that PS3 users are supporting game at the moment they are released except for some games and i think Uncharted deserve the same treatment, i totally agree with gametrailers about it : Uncharted is far better than gears series, and i like gears of war. But as it is said in the emission, narration in gears is a mess....

I really hope PS3 users will go for it day one. It's clearly something that will confort Sony by allowing ressources to their first parties and then continue to make great blockbusters like Uncharted.

We're not all thinking that Gears of War has gone stale. What I can't understand is how both Uncharted and Gears of War are both in their third iterations this generation, yet only Gears has gone stale.

Add Game Trailers to the group punked by SONY Super Fans. The question should have been: what game would you guys like the revenue of? That panel was afraid of being attacked, period.

They had nothing concrete to say that made U3 better than Gears 3.
Gears 3 can say:
4 player story mode campaign co-op
New Horde Mode
New Beast Mode
Just that alone is enough!

What can Uncharted 3 say?:
Nothing...Oh, kickbacks...

Reviewers are weak & can be swayed. However, when someone has to spend an hourly wage on a product; thats the true test of a game being worth the purchase.

As usual the Xbox fanboys are playing sales. End of the day, as much as I loved the Gears beta, and will be getting it day one, I know that multiplayer is all it will deliver on. Uncharted 3 will have the unparalleled campaign, and judging from the beta, an extremely feature packed multiplayer.

In terms of package, Uncharted will win. In terms of graphics, Uncharted will win. In terms of story, Uncharted will win, In terms of gameplay/variety, Uncharted will win. In terms of sales Gears of War 3 will win. And ironically when you look at that, the one factor that shouldn't matter to gamers at all, and only the devs/publisher and shareholders, is the one Gears wins at.

It's a great, fun game and will sell a fuck tonne. But as a game, Uncharted is better. And the reason I can say that is not only from the fact it has much wider universal praise than Gears, but the fact that the only thing you zealots can seem to gloat about is the sales. Not the graphics. Not the gameplay. Not the campaign. It's tragic.

A few of us like myself will be playing both Uncharted 3 and Gears 3 this fall. Don't hate.

Bottom line, Buying Gears, borrowing Uncharted.

The pre-orders say it all. Gears has NOT lost their community due to the bad online multipler lobby system for the first couple of months of Gears 2's release despite what those "nerds" on GT think.

Sales for Gears 2 went UP from Gears 1 and now Gears 3 is the setting records for most pre-orders for an exclusive.

Those 3 nerds on GT may have picked Uncharted over Gears....It's Gears that is showing which of the 2 games consumers are willing to put their money down on pre-orders and which one they are looking to borrow or rent.

Gears 1> Uncharted 1
Uncharted 2> Gears 2
and from what i've played so far
Uncharted 3> Gears 3.

I don't know why, but i just dont have the love for gears 3 that I did for gears 1.

Gears 1 was the first great Tps cover shooter, that could be why...I haven't played Gears 3 beta so I can't comment. Anyhow it was this for me...

Uncharted 2 > Gears 1 > Uncharted 1 > Gears 2

For multiplayer, Gears 1 by a long shot

For single, Uncharted 2 by a long shot

I'll be getting Gears 3 since it's out with barely any competition, Uncharted 3 will have to see, since Battlefield and Elder scrolls are sort of my favorite franchises

Uncharted 3 looks like a amazing game and since I have a PS3 and 360 and these games come out far apart and both deserve my money for the DIFFERENT experiences that they give me both day 1 purchases for me.

GoW 3 by a country mile for me, while UC3 will have another epic sp campaign the mp, in the beta, just didn't float my boat. GoW 3 has great co op campaign, Horde 2.0, Beast mode and dedicated servers for the mp. It doesn't get better than that.

These games really depend on your taste and your preference for good story or good multiplayer.

Or you could, you know, accept them both as the great SP and MP games they BOTH are and enjoy your big, dumb adrenaline rush with Gears then enjoy a little more depth of story and more thoughtful MP with U3. If you don't have room in your life for both series as a gamer just think you're missing out as both will be amazing in their own right as i'm thinking this will be a true Gears after number 2 dropped the pace of the original for me.

But,niggles aside, every game in each series has been amazingly good and for different reasons and gamers shouldn't be picking them apart. both games show something great about gaming and kudos to all involved with making and publishing the pair of 'em.

I can see why someone would like one more than the other but pretending EITHER is streets ahead of the other when they aren't directly comparable is lunacy to ,me. I don't see why we can't like both.

I loved the UC3 beta but to be honest these two games play very differently. I prefer uncharted mp but let's be honest gears is also an extremely class act. We as gamers win either way. Just get both consoles already people. Support great games not a brand name.

Gears of war 3 look outstanding and is going to be one of the biggest games this year. Just because it sells well doesnt mean its a generic casual shooter like call of duty.

What a surprise. Sony defence force is out in full swing on this one. What i hate about the special episode of the bonus round is that they hardly talked about the new games, all they talked about was UC2 And Gears 2.

In every other round they have been comparing what we have seen in from the two games, I.E dark souls and elderscrolls they spoke about the campfire system in dark souls and how big elderscrolls looks.

But with Gears vs UC3 They said how gears 2 was broken on release and how uncharted 2 had a good singleplayer. Im sorry but i dont see how you can compare to game without actually going into detail about the two.

They didnt say anything about beast mode in gears, They hardly mention the co-op adventure in UC3. Then they say that Horde mode isnt important anymore because lots of game have it? I dont understand why they did this with this episode of the bonus round and it really bugged me.

Anyway il be getting both games but i think i prefer gears a little bit more because i enjoyed the gears beta just a little bit more than UC3. Still think uncharted 3 look amazing though

I'll list specific ones that are major. Examples, Horde 2.0 added some major stuff. It added a whole new faction to fight, ability to buy defenses and weapons and five completely dynamic bosses for each map. Beast mode is innovative allowing you to play as your enemy where A.I set up defenses much like Horde mode. TDM completely re-did the style of how it originally worked, no similarities expect kill your opponent. 40 unlock able characters is a huge difference from 10 from the previous game last time I checked. 100's of medals and ribbons where not in the previous game at all, it gives you a feeling of achievement and X.P when you complete one; making the Mp more fun. Arcade mode, I don't know much about. Vehicles is absolutely huge, I never thought they'd be able to incorporate it into Gears but they did. Four player co-op campaign, few games let you play through an entire campaign
with four people at once. Thirty five dynamic Weapon skins, most of which are animated and give a more customization experience to MP, without unbalancing the game. Dynamic environments are large, once more they give a changing feeling to MP and make maps far more fun. Fifty ultra-cinematic executions for overall, the fact you're able to execute someone in real time in over fifty
different, gruesome ways is absolutely marvelous. Dynamic changing enemies, few games include this. The enemies will mutate dynamically to larger or stronger beings anywhere, anytime. Even in enclosed structured areas completely unscripted. An updated engine, I shouldn't even have to say what's great about this. Dedicated servers, Gears is a very fast paced MP. A fiber internet connection to ensure no lag reaches any games will be absolutely superb, I wish other
games would follow this. Three year development time, another obvious one. Thanks to this the development team at Epic got to lengthen the campaign and polish it making
it more fun. Not to mention we have FXAA intergration with the new Unreal engine.

These reviewers should be fired, they don't know what there talking about. Uncharted 3 MP beta to me was a joke, all I got were crappy kickbacks. God, I can't even describe my dislike for the sprint feature.

Gears of War 3 is using the newest form of Unreal Engine for graphics. No other graphics engine on any other console offers the advanced graphics techniques seen in Gears of War 3. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But the fact is the Gears of War games display far more polygons than the
Uncharted games while you are playing. This specification cannot be debated. From a technical point of view there is no doubt Gears of War has the advantage over Uncharted.

Quality over quantity my ass. ND is failing in my opinion. Gears 3 has given us everything we've asked for. They've fixed all! And then some. It still amazes me people are praising Uncharted 3. It hasn't changed anything. I'll still be buying Uncharted 3 but in my opinion after playing both betas Gears 3 is defiantly before Uncharted 3.

They even managed to contradict themselves, they believed the previous demo for Gears 3 was superior which was more open and less "shoot for the target" cinematic and linear. Cinematic and linear is exactly what Uncharted is. It takes "Shoot for the eye" to a whole new level.
