E3 Replay: Battlefield 3 for PS3

Eduardo Vasconcelloswrites: DICE’s Battlefield 3 had an incredible showing at last week’s E3, racking up over 30 award nominations. But for many shooter fans, one question remained — “Where’s the console version?” Well, tonight those questions are answered as DICE’s own Johan Dohl stops by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to give Jimmy the first hands on with Battlefield 3 for PS3. Not in this interview but on Jimmy Fallon show they will be showing off the PS3 version. For the first time.

I expect BF3 to go like this. PC>PS3>XBOX360 (Best to worst) But he did say they are trying to make it equal across all platforms. Be interesting to see what it looks like running on the PS3 tonight...

No one is saying that consoles will look as good as the pc version but they are hoping for the best experience they can get on their console.

That said, many console players say ridiculous things that need to be corrected.

This has nothing to do with elitism or arrogance. If 360 fans were saying something incorrect the PS3 fanboys would jump on it and correct it. Why is it wrong when PC gamers do it?

There was a guy today (actually several guys) in another article that was saying that he hopes the PS3 version looks as good as the PC version.

I asked "why hope for something that is impossible? It's like saying 'I hope these Twinkies help me lose weight'.

I was simply correcting an absurd statement. Of course the console versions will not objectively look as good as the PC version. But that doesn't mean that it won't be a fantastic looking game on consoles relative to other games on consoles.

with any demo I saw for FPS's coming out of E3, besides Dust 514. Bioshock looked OK.

I think he meant the tank demo footage shown. I honestly love Battlefield but the tank gameplay was a bit boring although it looked incredibly realistic.

Who remembers Johnny at EA saying how they had already shown the console version and Kotick is in trouble if he thinks differently. NOW they are saying they will show it for the first time.

There is a difference going from 1080p 60fps and 720p and 30fps. Let's see what they've decided to show and if it's the same compared to what they have shown so far. The first time they showed the PS3 MOH version, it didn't go so well...lol.

360 will look the same or almost the same (very small differences) as the PS3. they have even stated that in an article. Also its DICE, they're not going to half ass it on any Console.
