Gamer's Corner takes a look at the Build and Battle feature and analyses each structure based on the videos and interviews;
"6) Artillery Tower - If you watch the dev diary video very closely at the start, you'll see this structure in action firing it's load. It appears to be an artillery tower, firing it's ordinance high into the sky at a vertical angle. Whether or not this comes with a personnel laser guidance system or not is purely speculation on our part. Nevertheless, it is a multi-tubed artillary/mortar tower of some sort. We assume that once built, a trooper can laser paint a target somewhere on the battlefield - presumably static enemy structures."

Starhawk over Warhawk?...... Dude, NO ONE should listen to you.
Odd choices for "best" more like you settled as these being the "best" that available to you at the time, cause a lot of these blow or were average to poor performers that ended up in bargain bin.
Missing too many great sci-fi titles here. The Void, The Resistance Series, Killzone 2 and 3, Enslaved, man.. there were so many, this is redicu-list.
Glad to see Resonance of Fate. Enslaved was pretty good too. I’m sure there are others nobody has listed but I’m too tired to try and think of anything
With every big game now belonging to a big intellectual property, there are those that have become redundant. Here are the series' we miss.
I miss Dark Cloud I mean damn, Dark Cloud 2 is one of the best Action RPG game ever made. The game have: Rich Worlds, different setting, tons of contents, vareity in gameplay like never before (and even after), best buliding mechanics, crafting system like no one did and finally impressive graphics.
Most underrated game ever. It deserved the popularity and sales of Zelda and Final Fantasy. ut unfortunately, Level-5 and Sony didn't advertise it at all.
My franchises I wish would make a come back, are Battlefront by pandemic studios - galactic conquest was the best, mercenaries 1 and 2, and prototype 1 and 2...great games!
Pure PlayStation: Pure Reminiscing is a brand new feature from our very own Kyle Durant. It’s… different. Think of it like a mini-novel full of Kyle’s most weird and wonderful musings about games of yesteryear. If nothing else, at least it’s long enough to give you something to do on your journey to work in the morning….
StarHawk could be the start of something really big if they do it right....
...A shooter that is also a RTS game.
Build and Battle adds the RTS aspect to the TPS awesomeness that is Warhawk.
But for this to become really big, they need to expanded and develop classes and limit what that class can build with various pros/cons and the need for all to be present in a successful team ... and expand the player count and map sizes eventually.
StarHawk could be a ground breaking game for the consoles ... and even more so if it eventually becomes a FPRTSS (a Firstperson realtime strategy Shooter).
I've been waiting for an article like this. Somebody describing the builds. Artillery towers may replace binoculars. The beam turret brings to mind SWB memories...of how you couldn't hit anything with it. Trying to hit Hawks with a beam might not be too practical unless it IS actually lock-on or AI controlled. Or it just had insane DPS that you just need a tap or two. Just anything better than the garbage that were turrents in warhawk.
Supply depots sound really good. Like really really good. Weapons stashes...and a armored holdout. Combine that with the bubble shield and walls you'll probably troll the fuck (excuse my language) out of anybody in CTF camping your flag. Might be the most cost efficient building on that list on paper.
With upgrades and more buildings in later builds or ones they haven't shown yet, I'm liking the options they're giving you on-top of that Warhawk action.
I thought there was a Jeep garage building as well though...
I think the build and battle feature is the best part about the game so far. It's exciting that an online shooter is about to include an RTS element. It's really fresh and also takes shooters in a new direction.
My only concern is the rookie developer, it's their first project so I hope they can pull it off. Should be ok though with Sony behind them
