The online component of Starhawk, a spiritual successor to the multiplayer-focused online game Warhawk, is no longer playable after June 30, 2018.
real liked this game
Fortnite reminds me of Warhawk with Starhawk mechanics, now People know why I liked that game so much.
Why? Starhawk and Warhawks selling point is probably the flight gameplay, Fortnite doesn't have any of that... it's not really similar at all...
Wow same bro. Trying to plat fortnite to go with my warhawk plat. But I missed my chance to plat starhawk sadly.
very similiar. the drop in from the sky aspect, the hit detection, the way the characters move, everything was ripped from Star/Warhawk. I would be surprised at all if Fortnite introduces dog fighting and it controls exactly like Starhawk
Agreed. Was so fun back then....
The multiplayer with base building was so good and so overlooked in its time. I think it took a lot of flak in the reviews because of its lackluster single player campaign. That's a shame. The campaign was pretty much one big tutorial to get you ready for the online mp. Yea, it wasn't great, but the mp was. I hope they make another Warhawk or Starhawk in the future!
Make it f2p as is on ps4
I remember it just not feeling very good to play, that’s why it failed. You have to nail the core mechanics in a multiplayer game.
Can’t believe they are still up! I’ve been waiting for a PS4 remaster.
I only played the beta, it was fun. But isn't it weird this gets decommissioned before Warhawk?
Hardcore Warhawk fans absolutely hated Starhawk. I think it was the building mechanics that they didn't like. I thought it was cool.
Warhawk is on playstaton now and is quiet active
I think Warhawk also supports dedicated servers so even if the official servers go offline, people can still play it.
I loved Warhawk!!
I uninstalled Starhawk around 3 years ago, mainly because almost nobody was playing it at that time. It was one of the best multiplayer games on the market, so it's kind of sad that it wasn't more popular than it ended up being.
Was really into this game for a while. The multiplayer was fun as hell. Would probably be all over it again if it got a rerelease on ps4. Hardly got any marketing when it first released.
When did LightBox Interactive close down? They laid of a few people after sony ended the contract in 2012 but they began work on a IOS game.
Warhawk was amazing as a multi only game never tried starhawk
you missed out wasn't as good as warhawk (imo) but still hella fun to play!
This game was incredible. The Build & Battle mechanic, combined with 32 player counts on massive maps, seriously made for one of the best multiplayer experiences ever. I loved how they didn’t make the Hawks super OP like in Warhawk, and there was so much more depth to the combat. Warhawk may be a PS3 classic, but Starhawk was far superior.
It was that depth that hurt it since those 32 player battles didnt involve to much communication
Spent a lot of time on this. Sony should bring Socom 2 online Killzone 2 online Resistance 2 player Co op And starhawk online Any of these done on ps4 would be awesome
Dude yes!! Resistance 2 coop was amazing!! Bring it back with more maps!
Add in MAG, and we'll have some fun multiplayer games. PS3 online gaming was fun as hell!!!! PSN had huge battles in those games like no other.
And it wasent locked behind paywall Ps3 graphics are mechanically the same as the generation 8 games, not much apart besides a prettier display of what we already got
It's a shame. This game felt underrated. Put countless hours into its MP.
They should make a another hawk game.
I agree 100%
Give me Warhawk or Starhawk remastered on the PS4 and I'll slap a random person in the street out of happiness
Hate to say it, but the stacking of teams really ruined this game. Was a huge Warhawk fan, and purchased Starhawk day 1. From day 1, veterans of Warhawk would stack their team and just destroy the opposing team. The enemy team could not even escape the base without being bombarded with attacks. You would have a whole team of max 50 level players against a whole other side with maybe 2 or 3 maxed players and noobs. I tried so hard to prevent this by changing sides to help the unbalanced gameplay, but most others just wanted to stack and stomp. It really was sad to see a game with such potential get abused like that. It was like that until I stopped playing because I couldn't take it anymore. The community killed this game before it even had a chance to grow. Nobody likes joining a game and getting clobbered so bad enjoying yourself becomes tedious.
sequel needed asap. this series had battle royal before pubg and fortnight developers even were born. ;-)
One of the best multiplayers ever! Along with warahwk Too bad not many people got to experience it
This is one of those games I always regretted not buying. A bit sad it's gone forever now.
It was no Starhawk. Played this one twice and got about quarter way through campaign.
There's, like, 8 people who are goin to be upset today.
Starhawk + Warhawk both need modern day remasters.
Starhawk was trash. Warhawk was good but there will never be another game like that.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOO WELL AT LEAST WE GOT WARHAWK
Damn, I barely got to play it online, as it was one of those Sony exclusives back then (2011-2012) that came with a code to unlock its online part, and I bought my copy pretty late, so it was second hand, and I couldn't justify paying 10€/$ for it when it was that late and the servers of several first-party titles were being shut down. I just hope they're not going to do the same with Warhawk...
Even if they do people can still play it. You can use your PS3 as a dedicated server for up to 32 players, so long as you've got good internet service.
Pretty much why online only games suck.
one of the most under rated games of last generation. The way people play games now(Fortnite, PUBG etc...) this game would kill it if it got a Remake/Re-Issue.
