Killing the campers, exterminating the exploits: Has Homefront solved CoD's biggest problems?

Kaos studios has told CVG exactly how it's attempting to make Homefront's multiplayer an even battle ground - leaving little room for campers or exploits.

The combination of players who sit in hidden areas and those who take advantage of server lag and other cheats have dogged Activision's CoD games online, most notably Modern Warfare 2.

The single player is pretty good, you will like it. A lot of complaints about the “lag” in KZ2 (didnt find it to be issue myself) but that has been fixed now.

Read up on the back-story from online sites, so that you know what’s going on:

If you like multiplayer, keep in mind that KZ3 is a more team-based experience, a bit different from CoD or Halo, closer to BF:BD. If you do enjoy it pick up MAG or Socom (out later this year), MAG has a stable but rather small user-base a year after launch but also cheap now.

Also, a lot of excellent games available for cheap now: MGS4 (stealth), ratchet (action-platformer), Uncharted 1/2, Heavenly sword (fighting game). You should get these for £20 or less new.

did any site ever take apart a ps3 slim to check out the airflow?

I bought my ps3 the day slim was released to make sure I got a fat one. I'm a pc gamer. Those slims (and no i'm not just talking sony) look like it would be terrible cooling.

What does COD have to do with Homefront?

BrutallyBlunt5217d ago

Because of its sheer popularity and constant moaning from the community due to hacks/cheats and so on. Its also another reason why Windows gets hacked so much, due to its large userbase. Modders/hackers will try and ruin Call of Duty games as opposed to a game that hardly anyone plays.

xYLeinen5217d ago

So journalists thinks developers are making games now to fix problems the CoD franchise got?

Not everything is about Call of Duty. You are saying we should look up to CoD because of their sales. Then I say, look up to BF for instance because of quality.

Fuck this game and it's lame online pass system

Huarle5217d ago

It actually has a far better online pass than others.
You get to play the MP (with certain restrictions) which is a fair deal. If you really like it after that you can buy it.

every game got flaws, homefront will have its own as well, that gamers will bitch about.. same cycle

jsslifelike5217d ago

Yeah, like a 5-hour campaign. I won't be likely to play multiplayer, so after hearing that, I just can't justify $60.

byeGollum5217d ago

I think i'll wait till it goes down in price as well.. I'm only interested in the game for the story.. but when the length of a game is revealed its usually double for me, I take forever to finish games
