I tell you what, Mario and his cohorts sure are an athletic bunch. Over the years, the guys and gals of the Mushroom Kingdom have proved themselves more than proficient at football (soccer to our friends on the other side of the Atlantic), baseball, tennis and pretty much every Olympic event going. As if to prove a point, they’re now adding hockey, dodgeball and volleyball to their repertoire of talents. Oh, and just in case you had any doubts regarding their basketball skills, well, they’re getting back on the court too.

When he’s not busy stomping goombas, you can find Mario hitting the links, swinging his tennis racket, or playing some street soccer with his pals. Mario sports games have a long history, dating all the way back to the original NES. Some have been home runs. Others were a swing and a miss."
The ‘Mario Sports’ trademark has been registered by Nintendo for Europe and Australia. The two listings for the Mario Sports trademarks in Europe and Austraila were both registered on May 20, 2020. They will expire 10 years after their registered dates, so in May of 2030. Both of the registered trademarks refer to “Mario Sports”.
